Today we have an interview with James Moffet of Colossal Studios. James is the CEO and Executive Producer of this video-game content production company. Moffet, and most his staff, formerly worked on Wish by Mutable Realms. The interview looks at the industry as a whole and his company's unique role.
MMORPG.com: Unlike most people we talk to you, you run a studio without a game. How does this change things from past studios youve been in where there was one central project?
James Moffet: For one, its a hell of a lot easier *grins*. MMOs are hard and expensive to build. Nonetheless, we are doing the same type of work that we were doing prior to Colossal Studios with the exception that the work is much more diverse since it spans across multiple projects.
While we dont have a game ourselves, we are working on some rather innovative games for other studios. You cant see this work due to Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) (he downside to being outsourced labor).
Things are not much different really. |

Not only are they beautiful, but the message was wonderful to and also moved me lol.
It is just an opinion, but for someone who didn't succeed with his product, and get it to market. He sure seems pretty sure of himself.
And he freely admits to paying crap wages, to folks in other countries. For great art. And just reading it, reminded me of folks who talk big, and act like they are top dogs. When in reality, it's just that. Big Talk.
I apologize, if this offends folks. But truth be told.. I wouldn't feel comfortable working for this guy. Just makes me think I wouldn't see my paycheck. Truth or not, who knows. Just an opinion.
But let me say the art was fantastic. But James Moffet, sounds to me like a guy riding the tails of others labors.
