Looking for a Soloists haven

DrKillerDrKiller Member UncommonPosts: 7

I've been at MMORPGs for quite a long time, started in conquer online back in 2004 or something. Since then I've gone to Aion, Rappelz, Cabal, GlobalAgenda, GW2, FFXIV.

I'm mainly at the moment looking for a game that doesn't force me to group with people, I'd like to advance on my own. I don't mind a grind fest, I'm one of those people that can sit and fight the same battle for 6 hours! So Korean/japanese themed games aren't a problem for me.

So, fellow MMORPGers, does anyone have any advice for me?

Besides not wanting to be forced to group what else do you enjoy or look for in a game?

Most mmos are very solo friendly these days. Ide suggest Rift... Simply because there's a lot for a solo player. Every calling has very strong solo souls,  there's solo chronicles at 60 and 2 man ones but they can be soloed... Just more challenging. Theres personal dimensions which is rifts personal housing if thats your thing and its only going to get better with the new crafting profession coming out. For open world content there's public grouping... It's not forced and really isn't social it's just fast grouping for invasions/rifts then disband when it's over. Same deal for instant adventures.

Obviously dungeons/raids force grouping and the instanced pvp puts you in raid groups.

I just got back into EQ2....you can hire mercenaries which are AI helpers and basically solo the entire content (even some heroic with a good combo) to max level.

If you're not looking for an older game like that, you can pick almost any new MMO these days. None really "force" you to group. The only way most try to get you to group is for end game content...other than that they are all solo friendly for the most part.

    Yeah, don't play MMOs.

Seriously, why are don't play a single player RPG? They usually have better gameplay, better graphics and you don't get some asshole trying to ruin your day and you even have a pause and save feature!

However if you want some boobs then League of Angels or Scarlet Blade might be worth a look.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. Perhaps I'll give Rift another go, last time I played it, it was p2p.

EQ2 has also been mentioned a few times so perhaps I'll give that a shot as well.

Eldevin. Hm. I'm kind of turned off by browser games tbh, I feel like they're just there for people to sneak playtime while at work xD.

I've not heard of TeSo before, I'll look it up!

As for why not play single RPG? I don't mind interaction with players, in fact I like being part of a guild, but RL sort of dictates on me that I must be able to leave what I'm doing within 5 minutes, so I try to stick to games where I can be on my own and not have to worry about ruining someone else's day by abruptly leaving.
