As in every mediocre/flawed/incomplete MMO there is one thing in common. People rarely talk about the "endgame". Questions like...
#1 What do I get from owning a keep?
#2 What can I do beside endless cycle of def/attackin keeps with my maxed gear that would progress my chr?
I wish I could ask more endgame questions, but thats the other problem. This game doesn't seem to have a lot of endgame features...

I don't know. I find the game fun and I am positive I can at least a months worth of entertainment out of it. That's enough for me and will be worth the $64 I shelled out for the game.
It doesn't have to replace my life or be the greatest game ever. I don't have to play it for the next ten years. As long as I get a months worth out of it, it will more than worth every penny.

Spot on, well, in this case, TESO has obvious major flaws outside of just that, but it seems owning keeps has even less of a meaning in this game than it did in WAR. Which to me... Is not impressive.
Though I respect that they're at least trying to do something with PvP. Unfortunately, I'm still going to be waiting for the game that takes this kind of PvP, with sieges and ownable land, and bring it to the actual questing/ leveling zones.
Why would you care so much about end game already if it didn't even launch yet. You haven't even experienced the first 10 levels, the zones, the crafting, the pvp etc.
How can end game matter so much at this stage?
If I purchased the game, had fun for 100 hrs, got bored and quit. How would that be an unwise decision?

Look at his profile. He's 109 years old; gotta rush to endgame before he goes poof. Right, OP? =P
He needs something to complain about, even if it is untrue or a bad point
Lack of endgame is not an indicator to not buy the game, it's an indicator not to sub to the game.
In 10 years i haven't found a game to replace my current EQ2 endgame. But i've still played some really fun games - even if it was only for a month or two.

Dungeons, exploring for Skillshards, PVP only available mats, becoming Emperor, PVP only skill lines that level independent of your character level, acheivements... Glad I could directly and quickly answer your question.
This is really where I am at with this game. I have no idea if I'll end up putting the thousands of hours I have put into EQ2 or not but I really don't care. What I do care about is that I have seen enough of the game to purchase it and will play it for somewhere between 50-100 hours at least. It's worth the cost of the box and maybe a month or two sub if I get that kind of enjoyment out of it and if I play past that it's just gravy.
ESO doesn't have to prove there is a endgame today but they will have to before 5/1 however I have seen enough of the PVP to believe that there is endgame a plenty in there if it's your thing.
My list was only for PVP, PVE has some similarities but some differences as well.
PVE
Skillshards, dungeons, Adventure zones, exploring to find Set specific crafting tables. Doing end game "Guild" quest lines to unlock guild specific skill lines, vampire, werewolf, whatever floats your boat.
Thankfully, it came on page 2 of the thread. And now, for our enjoyment, eleven more pages of "This game sucks!" vs "This game rocks!"
Yup....

I forgot to include the 50+ and 50++ ALLIANCE sized areas that are scaled to be difficult for max level characters. Level 50 is a badge, but means jack diddly when talking about advancing your character.
I believe the point you and the OP are missing is that these questions could have simply been plugged into Google and not made into yet another thread repeated countless times here that does nothing more than start flame wars.
Luckily for you someone did the research lazy people seem unable to do.

I am curious how many skill points you will still need when you hit 50 and how long it will take on average to earn them all. Plus they can always add more skill lines like the thief's guild as content updates and probably much easier even than most other games can. When you finished the story quest in TSW you only had a fraction of your skill points and really just where starting the game in a lot of ways. I don't know for sure but one can hope that ESO is similar in a lot of regrades.

Do some research.

As slow as I play I almost never reach what you call END GAME anyways... so no worry here!!
Depends on the type of player you are. 100 hrs may not get you to lvl 50.
I provided some info earlier in the thread. I was applauding Pyatra for posting info for the OP (info I was aware of). I then, sarcastically, figured there would be more pages of the so-called flame wars you alluded to, and posted such.
I am neither missing the point, nor am I lazy, good sir. On my way to drunk, maybe. But definitely not lazy.
Calm down guys, we have to remember the important thing, OP is answered... so it's time to get smashed on Margaritas and Mojitos ... cheers.
Owning a keep is the only way I see ever accumulating enough Alliance points to become Emperor of Tamriel. Not to mention your Alliance has to win the Alliance War for the highest ranked member on your side to become Emperor. To win the war you have to take and hold keeps. Also, keeps provide resources (alliance points,) which are, on top of determining rank, the currency for everything AvAvA based. They're how you buy siege engines, Alliance specific equipment, upgrade keeps, repair them, etc. You have to, to my understanding, balance your spending, with how much you're saving and earning, at least if you want to have a shot at renown/emperor.
And that's just for launch. Who knows what they might eventually implement with further content. The land around Cyrodiil may, in fact, be added into the whole AvAvA setup to create some super-open world pvp area (the current one already outstrips the old DAOC pvp area (minus darkness falls.)) As it is, it already offers more than any other pvp setup to date, aside from games built purely around their pvp (like Darkfall or Eve.) But I figure the only game that'll pull off another Eve Online type setup in a fantasy world is going to be another CCP game (maybe, eventually, WoD.)
