Imperial Edition items delay

Just a heads up to the community here: If you purchase the ESO digital Imperial Edition, the mount, Rings of Mara, etc., won't unlock for you until April 4th. So even though your early access play begins on March 29th, the character you're leveling won't get to use the mount or the rings until 5 days later.

I just thought I'd let people here know as this came as a surprise to several of us. I don't think this info is being made clear to folks before/during the purchase process.

I know that's what it says in the ESO support site but I'm still not buying that answer.

Remember, things are very fluid atm... It can, and I suspect probably will change before launch.

As my "evidence" that this could happen, I give you the fact that once I entered my pre-purchase Imperial key, my conformation email stated that I will receive 5 days of early access... so my Imperial key was logged as such!

No guarantee"s, but a very strong argument in favor of said change!

    I got your Deliverance!

Ya and?  Its not a delay if it was planned that way now is it?  It's just in your mind that way because you want it when you want it.

Ya, I sent an email to Ubisoft because I pre-purchased through them (got AC 4 for free) and have not heard back from them.

I sent several emails to ESO because I was ticked about the mount thing.  I checked my account and it showed 5 days of early access, but it had the picture of the standard digital edition and I did not have any of the perks (including mount) during beta.

ESO told me that I had to get in touch with Ubi because they are supposed to be sending out a second key for the explorer pack since the first key is only good for the 5 days early access.  When I checked my email confirmation order from Ubi about my order, it did indeed say that the code was for early access and mentioned nothing about the other items.

I will post a status update if I ever hear from Ubi considering I sent the email two days ago.

This is not a delay. This was always planned. It keeps people from preordering and entering their preorder key and then canceling.

The only way to get a mount in Beta was to have bought the digital Imperial Edition from the ZOS store. I have bought the physical Imperial Edition at Gamestop. They printed a code on my receipt in the store. I redeemed the code and have early access (part of the Explorer Pack). The picture of the box on the account website's right hand side is brown not red (Imp Ed color is red).

Regardless the Explorer Pack does not include the mount. The Explorer Pack includes: early access, pet, any race/alliance, and  treasure maps.

The Imperial Edition includes the mount not the Explorer Pack that comes with it. Look at the partitioned boxes and you will see that it reflects my statement.

My understanding is if you buy the physical copy you will get the Imp Ed code inside the box. To avoid people redeeming the Imp code then canceling the pre-order, getting early access AND getting a mount for free. They put the Imp Ed code in the box that redeemed for the mount. I was told about the code being in box by a Gamestop employee while he was looking it up on their computers.

The rest is my conculsion and not a set-in-stone fact: So far this is what I gathered. Bethesda Softworks (not the studio but the publisher company) is the publisher of the physical copies. If the people who bought the digital Imp Ed from ZOS got the mounts, but not the people who paid more with the physical copy, made by the sister company Beth Soft. There would be a major conflict of interest between them. They are under the same parent company ZeniMax Media.

    Oh and also:

I "believe" the ZOS store support is outsourced and they just read the same thing that you do. I couldn't get any additional information from them that I could already read. I have talked to them multiple times got different answers and had to coach them through the questions, as the answers would change when I explained it to them. They ended up not knowing but reading the same thing I was, out load word for word. I asked if they could call up someone who did know and email me back, but to no avail.

Makes sense. That explains why some of us had access to the mount and others who said they had bought the imperial edition didn't.

Heh. I figured they don't have it set-up to be mailed so sticking them in the stables was easier to do quickly.

I've pre-purchased mine from greenmangaming. Received only the headstart code so far, it shows as "brown" edition on my ESO account page.

I wouldn't worry too much, as someone contacted them and got answer below:

"The keys we have sent out are for Early Access and this will apear as the Standard Edition. Please do not worry as we will send you the Imperial Edition keys closer to the release date."

Also, "support confirmed that you can choose imperial race during your 5 days early access you just wont get the items with it until the 4th."

I got mine from greenmangaming too and they took the money so I can't see why we don't get the keys as they have the money already.

They did a similar thing with Tera's CE and Early Access. Don't think it matters much, you hardly need a mount outside PVP with how many teleport shrines there are.
