When I first saw Hex:The Shards of Fate, it was knee deep in the trenches of a very strong Kickstarter campaign and well on its way to completing another stretch goal. But the samurai bunnies and ogres were still waiting to manifest in a playable version of the game. Quite a few months have passed since then. Now that the Kickstarter is done and the alpha is in full swing though, it was time to see the core game functions in action.

Hearthstone is a casual, simplified CCG. That's what they wanted to make, and that's what they made. It is targeting a broad, general audience. HEX is much more like Magic the Gathering, a deep, complex CCG strategy game targeting a more narrow demographic.
I just hope HEX delivers on the multiplayer (non-1v1) promises, because that's something no other CCG has done (well) so far. At the moment though, it is just promises, as the current HEX build is completely missing all non-1v1 PvP and all PvE.
I like Hearthstone for what it is, but THIS looks waaaaaay better.
