Post NDA Poll - How long do you see yourself playing?

IselinIselin Member LegendaryPosts: 18,719

Now that we can talk about anything, go crazy with specifics about your choice.

EDIT: crap, hit enter before I added the other options lol

Oh well...if you think you'll play more than the last option, use that one...can't edit the damn poll.

And sorry, no "Show me the results"

Not sure, while i really enjoyed my time in the game, I need to see more later content to see how it will keep me engaged. I preordered and everything, now to see how it holds up.

I put 3-6 months, but hopefully longer . . . Does the game close down after 6 months or something?
  • Home15Home15 Member Posts: 203

Its just..not for me, not going to invest money each month knowing I wont be logging in at least 2/3 times a week

Dont get me wrong the game is fine, sadly its very focused for consoles and pvp

And im a PvE person wich the game is somewhat lacking.

I can honestly say I have seen enough of the game to want to buy it and play come launch but not enough to decide how long I will stick around for.  There are so many factors that will come into play in how long I'll hold a sub open on this game that just can't be answered right now.

I was wondering that myself lol. I know for sure it will be 3 months, probably up to 6 because I'm a very slow leveler, but whether any game including this can hold me beyond 6 months with so many things on the horizon including some very cool PS4 games remains to be seen :-). The game has to be special and that means special content updates every 4-6 weeks like they promised and hopefully more RPG aspects added.

    There Is Always Hope!

Not sure. If Zenimax shows that they don't care and game itself is bad then most likely I am gone after 1st month. If Zenimax pays attention and tries to make game as good as possible and devlivers everlasting fun then it can be years. Hard to tell at this point, we shall see.

At least till the end of first month. Then it depends on how everything plays out. If the game is consistent then who knows, probably until they start screwing it up or perhaps something betters catches my interest.

It's hard to tell for sure just playing a few hours.  I don't even know what it's like after getting off the first three islands.  I'm not planning to PvP unless I try it an really enjoy it.  I see the pace of combat is so fast you can't even use text to chat.  I'm not a big fan of using voice chat as it kills the immersion for me.  It seems like it will be required for PvP if you want to do well and possible in PvE group content as well.  If there is a lot of solo PvE content I'll probably be playing for a while unless it starts to feel repetitive.  I know it will be repetitive like all MMOs, but if I'm having fun it won't matter.

I will wait until people reach end game to see their comments and for a free trial as I don't like what I see so far.

Ordered a CE for my wife and I. Given my my limited free time and no desire to rush I could see this game going beyond 6 months. Not happy with all of their choices but overall I am pleased.

Im first and foremost an MMORPG gamer. Seeing as how I am not currently playing one, I will stick with this at least through the end of summer. MMOs to me, however, have always been about guilds. If you have funny, smart, and genuine comrades then you eventually keep coming back just to hang with them in-game. Idk how I feel about multiple guilds, or the fact that everyone sees different phases of quests..this sounds likes its making the game less multiplayer oriented.

    This.

Nor can I predict what ZOS will do with the game in the future.  Perhaps it gets all 'been there done that' after the first month; maybe ZOS ruins bits I currently like to appease someone else, and I walk away in disgust.  Or maybe not, and it becomes the game I play till the shut the servers down.

I may claim to be a prophet, but it's mere pretention.

I am hoping that it will be 3-6 or longer. Time will tell. I voted 1-3 because I know I'll get a month for sure and almost 100% to get 2. After that, it depends on where I'm at and what's going on as far as end game, how much I am still enjoying PvP (assuming I am), how 'fixes' are progressing etc.

3 to 6 maybe even more.

First I plan to explore all PVE content to make all quest ALL to get all Skyshards to level all skill morths to gear and than I will go to WvW I guess after 3 months when it will be reseted.

I'll play this until something better comes out.  I'd thought my next MMO was going to be ArcheAge, but then this one came out of nowhere (for me.)  Maybe there will be another in the near future, but the only one I'm really super excited for is World of Darkness.  I don't have much faith in the Kickstarter MMOs.  The only others I can think of that might come out before WoD that really interest me are Black Desert or Gloria Victis or (maybe) Pantheon.  The latter three promise open world sandbox, but the only publisher that has ever delivered on that is CCP, hence my reservations.  It also doesn't help that Black Desert may never be localized.

So while I'm not innocent enough to think that I'll be playing ESO forever  (though i'll probably be playing TES games in general for many, many years,) I do think I'll be playing longer than six months.

AA is worse than ESO in many aspects. CRAZY LONG BORING crafting static battles and game is for parties. And game is very 2005 A better version of La 2 .

After ESO  trion will fail a little because people who enjoy dynamic Gw2 ESO battles will hate AA

i hope game keep me interesting least 6 month or more.
  • HengistHengist Member RarePosts: 1,315

I'd like to believe 6 months.

Reality though is it will probably be in the 1-3 month time frame. Key considerations for me, will be guild activity, and how much I enjoy the PvP. If both of those are positive, then it could be longer.

The more I played the beta the more I liked. I put 3-6 months but really that is what I would like to happen.

I'm at the point where people shouldn't ask how many weeks or months you play, but how many hours. I might play 8 hours a day the first week and then taper off, or an hour a day for 4 months. It all depends on how the game is after level 10 for me. /shrug
