The only downside to beta has been this odd lag spike problem, even with cideo settings turned down. Otherwise, i quite love this game. my only wish is that it had a bit more guidance for noobs so they don't waste points on skills they'll never use :)

Was at first excited to see this. Almost pre-ordered about two weeks ago. Was invited to play in the beta weekend last week. Was disappointed and have  decided NOT to purchase.

ESO is a fairly good if not rather same ole same ole MMO. Graphics are tolerable. Mechinics overall are pretty good. However, the fact that the game just does not feel at all like an Elder Scrolls game (to me) is the deal breaker. I expected some trade offs being an MMO. But again, what has been done to this game is take some of the iconic things graphically and mechanically from say Skyrim but only in so far as it is window dressing. Underneath, ESO is not much different in terms of questing, grouping and pvp then virtually any other MMO. Instead of having a game that I can play with friends that would at least in some way share the Skyrim experience, you get just a generic MMO with the same tried and true trapping that every other MMO has put out.

Perhaps in a year or so things could change in ESO a bit to change my mind. But as of now, I disappointly say I am not overly impressed.

Let's party like it is 1863!

I love the people complaining that this has the same mechanics as other games. They're the same people who complain when they try something new also. I have come to the sad conclusion that we, the fans of MMOs , will be the death of the genre. We complain no matter what the game is like. Sooner or later, the developers will get sick of dealing with the whiny population and give up. Nothing will ever be good enough. Instead of deciding that a game isn't your thing, the kneejerk reaction is to proclaim from the rooftops that the game is terrible. The MMO community has become a cancer that I fear the genre has gone terminal from.

I must admit i am an avid "Oblivion / Skyrim" player. So I went into Beta with expectations of those two games in my mind.

At first I was really worried that this really wasn't going to be anything like the elder scrolls. It had no sandbox or open world feel to it. I felt like I was being herded around quests. Then like a smack on the back of the head, I noticed I was free to wander around as much as I wanted to.

So at first like a lot of game they just show you how to play and then let you go like a freed prisoner.

There will always be things that people don't like, but you really cannot please everyone.

So after playing in multiple beta's I have to say I had a great time and I think elder scrolls is a breath of fresh air, for mmo's.

    Release the Krakens!:-lol

    ok- so here goes....

Never been an elder scrolls fan.  Skyrim was released- and became a fan of the francise.

ESO later annouced- i was excited! (was) becaouse  aftre beign spoiled with F2p games, the sub was liek a wuah wuah wuah??? but nevertheless was gonna give it a shot...applied to beta  and waited..

got a beta invite way back!= results?..wasnt impresed...the graphics didnt par wiht the images ive seen on reviews and just  looked like warhammer online with a diff name. ( a game i loved! R.I.P.)

I even took the 5 page surveys to give them my feedback n reviews..

got a second invite- and just fell in love with it. thats all i can really say. I enjoyed it after the island tutorial crap...and joined the mages guild...i trully started getting involved in the story just as skyrim did.

should they get rid of the tutorial part?-perhaps not. for new players, should they have a 'skip' button?...yes.

all that said, i bought my collectors (yay mount, and imperial free zonin) and if they will use my sub fee for monthly updates and changes- Im in!

with wildstar, and ESo, and dreanor..i may stick to 'timecards' to alternate game and not get too serious about them.

just playing in moderation. besides, i have Hawken and TSW at all times!
