I don't know if you all have seen it but someone posted all skills for the game. Or at least known ones I'm hoping there will be some hidden ones. With that said do you guys ever think back to how we really had to figure out how to do things or at least until our monthly magazine touched on the subject or revealed cheats.
I was really looking forward to discovering vampire skills(dont get me wrong I still am) but now that I know exactly how this will turn out it kinda changes what I'm going to do before I get to that point. Plus how cool would it have been to see a vampire then say omg guy I think you're the coolest only for them to say well I can make you a vampire if you want and reply YES MY MASTER.
I closing I think I'm going to try to hold out on seeking info on sites and just enjoy the game the slow route and discover on my own hence forth!

There won't be anything hidden.
There are forums, wikis, and data mining.
You are right with your headline.
Actually, not looking at something can make it sort of hidden.
If you don't want information - don't seek it out.
We live in an age where all secrets are sooner or later unveiled and presented to the masses.
To give you an outlook on your very soul's aspect: All wisdom is presented to your Higher Aspect as it is. Your and my smaller Human Self lives in the illusion of restrictive knowledge. We have the chance of merging with this Higher Aspect and becoming One with all knowledge and creation or staying in our Egoic Human Self and seeing life as one big mystery.
We have chosen to live as humans because we learn in a restrictive environment. We have to discover knowledge in a certain way to learn from it's path and understand all the rules that govern it. That inclused failure.
Now what does this mean for gaming in our age? If I want to experience the closest outcome of the fantasy environment developers have created for me, then it is in my best interest to not look up Wikis or spoilerish content in the first place.
You have to Actively restrict yourself Not to consume these sources of information. Rather you play blind and dive into the actual gaming experience without having any information about anything you can discover yourself.
When you have information about where is what in the first place, the immersion is less deep. Same would be to be born as human and knowing everything from a Higher Self perspective. The flavor of this human lifetime would be gone in an instant.
So be wise with what information you consume.
Is it any wonder that people hit level cap in the first week and quit the game after the second week because they're "bored" ?
By the time they hit early access, they've already watched dozens of step-by-step guides on YouTube, showing the "most optimal" leveling paths. They've already watched the dungeon playthrough video's. They've already seen all the scenery, bosses and FX in the game.
All they need to do is click their mouse buttons in the right places a few times, and it's all over...
There are no surprises, there's no anticipation, it's all optimized, sanitized and consumed in the most efficient way possible. Experimentation and failure (*gasp*) is not wanted, only guaranteed success. Otherwise it's a "waste of time".
Gamers are their own worst enemies.
I simply don't understand this. It's all how you choose to play.
I decided a few years ago that my gaming is limited to the program itself. I don't google what I can't figure out, I work it out. If I can't figure it out I'll roleplay a bit and ask others to point me in the general direction of what I need. I have beta tested this since November and the scope of my knowledge is what I have experienced myself. I have intentionally focused upon exploration and bugs and stayed away from the bulk of quest lines so that when the game launches it won't already be boring. I just wanted to have a feel for "how" to play.
If you seek knowledge you will surely find it, but that's an option and not forced upon you. "help" and global chat channels can be muted so that you're not seeing every spoiler in the world. If your experience is being ruined, you're choosing for that to happen. I'm not trying to ridicule you or come across as an ass. I have a whole package of double stuff oreos in my pantry, but if I don't eat them I won't ruin my dinner... so... put the cookies away and stop ruining your dinner.
I played TSW without any help from the masses or google searches, and I can say I completed about 95% of the quests on my own, albeit mind numbing craziness. I will attempt to do everythign in ESO the same. I will explore every inch of every zone on my own for sure
There is such a thing as self control .Why did you do read stuff if you did not want to know than you blame the internet and people who inform others. You should have exercised self restraint .
It's a reflection of the world today. People have lots of knowledge available them because of the internet. It's easier to find out how to do things then ever before. People post how to videos all over youtube. I find this age has been difficult for me to live in. Most people act like they know everything. In fact they just took the hard work of someone else and used it for themselves in most cases. To truly do something unique one has to do something that hasn't been done before. To do something no one has done before you usually have to start from scratch "reinvent the wheel". I think it's why society has very few unique ideas these days and why people have short attention spans. I feel great pressure to always use instruction manuals now. Once I would have just tried something and see what happens. I was even encouraged to do so. Imagine that encouraging creativity. Now people just want things to work. They don't care if they put in a lot of work to figure out something themselves or if they took the information from someone else so they don't have to go through that hard work. One thing I have learned in life is if you want to do something unique you won't find it in a class room or instruction manual.
Anyway I believe that with all the knowledge available the age of discovery is gone. Even if you don't look things up the game will pretty much spell everything out for you.
Welcome to the internet. Have a free complimentary troll & the chance to spoil things for yourself.
If you haven't caught on by now, you can literally find everything online nowadays. If there is info you don't want to see, you need to take it upon yourself to not look for it. That's just the way things go these days.
That said, if you are talking about the link I think you are, they actually don't have all the skills. Also keep in mind, that each skill can be 'morphed', which completely changes how most of the skills work. For example a long range nuke can be morphed into a nuke + healing debuff, or an AoE blast ability. A heal can be morphed to refund mana, or have secondary effects like delayed additional healing.
I don't think many people realize just how much of a game changer morphing abilities is yet. To put it into perspective I'll give you an example:
Dragon Knight: They have an ultimate ability called Magma Armor. It prevents you from taking more than x% of your max HP worth of dmg each hit. Great against burst enemies. Now, if you morph it, you can add a synery; allowing all allies to trigger a damage shield for ~85%+ of their HP, effectively nearly doubling their health temporarily.
Yes, now that the NDA is dropped there is a ton of info out on the game. However, there is still a lot to discover, provided you stop looking for spoilers! ;p
I'm not blaming the internet for anything. I'm just saying remember when and I said for this game I'll try to not spoil myself. WTF. Did I come off as much of a whine as you're making me? I love all the info and my fun in the game isn't ruined. I was just having a thought about maybe if I didn't spoil it'll be more fun and wanted to discuss. I didn't come on here looking for advice or trying to point fingers. Geez.
This!! With extra this!
Im curious and can't wait to get into the game. I want to start exploring and discovering all the "hidden" things in the game. Yes, to me most things are still hiddens because i do everything i can to avoid the spoiler posts...
But i have to agree.....Its not easy beeing patient.
Buy the game , play the game fast before -all- info is out then there is not a single map on the internet right now that incl all locations, all books, all standing stones, all skills.
Wont take forever but might last maybe 1 month, afther that you jsut have to close youre eyes to anyting on the web and just enjoy the game the way -you- like it. not make it a rush as some others might do.
Ahh you were not complaining that is the problem with text ,cannot tell it sounded like you were complaining because you lost the sense of discovery through your own fault though.
I have a suggestion, stop searching for information about this game and you'll have things to discover when you start playing it...........

look under the world skills for them at this site
F2P may be the way of the future, but ya know they dont make them like they used to
Proper Grammer & spelling are extra, corrections will be LOL at.
And that isn't what I was saying in my post right?
I'm going to reiterate what this person has said. It's up to you to exploit those information available. Don't look at the guide or skills. You're going to depend on trial and error. Thankfully in ESO, there's enough skill point to allocate to your skills, so you won't have to worry about having no skill points to allocate.

Skills are something you'll see the minute you log into the game and open your character window, so hardly a secret worth keeping.
With an MMO, there is potential, for your character to be something you're attached to for years. So something like knowing the potential skills out there and having strategy on character building is generally a good idea.
There is plenty to discover in the game even if you've looked at skills. If anything, it helps you focus on discovering the game rasther than having to (possibly) re-roll your character because you made bad choices on day 1 when you knew nothing.

Ten years ago concluded the age of discovery mmoRPGs with a juggernaut release. The only way for us to have discovery nowadays is by creating randomly generated instances.
