Fastest way to level?

darthblazedarthblaze Member UncommonPosts: 48
Just curious if there is any Veteran beta players willing to share there leveling guides, ive read a few people hitting 50 that have been in beta awhile, what is the fastest way to level in the game, follow the main story, quest, and instance, or just grinding and main quests? Any info would be awesome!

    Questing....

Yeah it will take months to hit 50 in AvA. I plan to enjoy the AvA ride ;)

You can hop into PvP at lvl 10 and level entirely in Cyrodiil if you want to. So I don't see why there would be a rush?

Here is a post from a 50 describing the leveling process.

It should get you started figuring it out.

It probably has a lot to do with level 50 characters being far more powerful than even level 49 characters. At least according to the beta testers.

You might as well level PvPing in Cyrodiil.  Sure, you won't be at the top of your game until you hit 50, but you sure will have a lot of ESO PvP experience by the time you get there.  It beats doing PvE all the way through and then hitting that PvP learning curve when you finally get to 50.

I doubt that, about the first time you get ganked and start telling yourself if only you were level capped, your going to want to pick it up or put it down.

I appreciate the insight, I've betaed the game I have my full template set up, I'm sure I'll take breaks to pvp, but PvP levels ultimately slower, I've read that post realmlordsken, I appreciate it, was hoping for a little deeper info.0

Gawd, I hope there's a difference between my placid commentary and Dauntis' raging rant.

Live and let live still stands as a good way to behave hey? :)

Good luck with the leveling of your pvp focused character then Darth :)

Just throwing this out there but the fastest way would obviously be doing the main story and grinding the mobs you come across for a bit,  just like every other mmo.  The only ones that differ are ones with no story but being ESO they have a story for us that is intended to take you to 50 so if you rush like a train through that and no other stuff I'm sure you would end up close to 50.  The quests in ESO and exploration give so much more XP than the mobs did.

Do everything. You can *try* to speed through, but frankly just doing the obvious quest lines will leave you underleveled. And the other lines require a bit more than your average leveling. Dark Anchors are good for Fighter's Guild, you will have to find lore books for Mages and run dungeons for the Undaunted.

And if you don't put in the effort to find skyshards, you won't have enough skill points either. Random quests grant those as well.

Hard to answer your question because they're still tuning experience gain.

Based on the last beta weekend, questing and exploring seemed to be far more efficient than grinding or instances. Having a horse will help a lot here too...especially since mounts here can sprint just like you can and outrun mobs easily doing that.

but who knows...maybe at release the XP for kills will be increased making grinding more efficient.

@ drago I'm not understanding what you mean, why would I be alone at 50 with no one to kill, I'd be looking all the people leveling in PvP... Level 10 to 50 PvP zone

According to a member of Entropy Rising (they did a reddit Q&A for 50+)   65 hours of gameplay for lvl 50 V1 and another 2 weeks(no hours mentioned) to get to Level 50 V10.  Also once you hit V1 they suggest doing Veteran Dungeons to help level faster.  What faction are you going to join?  I might be able to give you some advice.

Also remember alliance points are important for buying things like siege.

Do you want to be the pwnzor for two weeks and pat yourself on the back for your temporary awesomeness that accomplished nothing or do you want to actually accumulate a resource that is overall useful in AvA and actually accomplish something?

PVP starts at level 10 and you get auto leveled up to 50 for PVP so what is it your trying to achieve here??

when you go to AvAvA at lvl 10 your boosted you can still do quite well and earn exp gold if you truely just want pvp you can probably do your levels all in AvAvA but I think it would be a little slow overall :P

Mob grinding nets far less than just exploring a point of interest.  So don't do it man.

I'm a PVE completionist, places and event, not acheivments.  I would rather you take it slow and enjoy but as long as you are willing to do it on an alt in off time, I see no reason to be all hating on you)  Of course I'm a healer so I will be extremely needed in our higher level content for veteran ranks but after that going full bore PVP.  Probably do a couple weeks of PVP after 50 and then hit faction 2, PVP, faction 3, PVP.... LOL, it's like I get 3 normal games out of this bad boy.

WELCOME ABOARD! Also if you were anyone but AD my response was going to be "Kill yourself and re-roll"image

Also PM me what guild you are in.

Your hit points get leveled up to 50, not your abilities.  And that's a HUGE difference.  Believe me, you would basically be fresh meat as a level 10 (with level 50 hit points) against real level 50s.  It's like the difference between cutting through butter and cutting through a really tough steak.
