Non-p2w free mmorpg

woodyflywoodyfly Member UncommonPosts: 62

Simply looking for something that is not pay to win, just trying to kill time. I don't wanna hit mid-end game and "struggle" to keep up because I need to spend money to get better gear. I'm thinking of trying tera online, is it any good?

EDIT: After trying tera first, I got a slight feeling of boredom about half an hour into the game. The combat was a bit repetitive for me. It just felt like if I were to be bored only half an hour into the game, I'd probably be fed up with the game in a short time, perhaps I'm wrong. Might continue playing it in the future.

Next up tried Rift and I enjoyed it more. The combat was like the typical wow mmorpg but felt more polished and diverse. Also love the souls system because I'm one of those people who can't make up their mind on which class/build/character to make.

Dungeons, all zones and all raids are free - all gear including best end game gear is free.

You can be the best top geared character without ever spending a cent.

Seems like a great suggestion, will definitely try. So what exactly do u pay for in rift then?

There were 4 new souls released with the xpac, if you want those you need to buy them but they are not needed and all of the other xpac content is free.

There is still an option to sub, the bonuses can be found here:  http://www.riftgame.com/en/store/#patron

The cash shop itself is mostly luxury items but there are some restrictions if you never bought the game. Bag space is limited without purchase, you cant post item on the AH and you will only get two character slots. Most of the other cash shop items can be earned in game or are simply cosmetics.

One of the best f2p conversions to date imho. If you do want to unlock the AH and bags it is rather cheap.

Go with Rift or Eldevin, they are my 2 that i'm playing right now.  Path of exile not bad either.

    Main Game: Eldevin (Plat0nic)
2nd Game: Path of Exile (Platonic Hate)

NeverWinter is also a great option am currently playing it and enjoying it.

Even though Neverwinter is a bit pay to win (you can buy in-game currency with real money and then buy all the gear from the AH), I find this game very enjoyable. The thing is you don't have to spend money, you can just grind if you want. The game is very fast paced, combat is entertaining, and the engine is very fluid.

Have fun paying 5 $ for respec.

Rift runs bad on multiple cores, since it only uses one.
