this is the only thing i don't like..no way to interact with the tabula rasa community through an official forum and have the devs atleast communicate with us...this is probably the one thing that turns be off about this game..i like when the devs come and chat with the community..it gives a nice personal feeling to it instead of the feeling of disregard.

well tabula rasa isn't coming out til atleast around summer 2006 anyways...so they have some time...besides, they're starting to show more info now I think...atleast this post says so
Listen up troops! Forums are coming. Sooner than you think.
That is all.
By the way, I'm the new content guy (been working on City of Heroes for about 2 years) currently assigned to update the TR site. We have mucho stuff coming down the pike.
next week or two, I bet.... something just FOR christmas....
and if it really is "that close"... we might see some forums up by middle of January..
Till then, I'll stick to this and Ogaming.... the community here looks like it needs more loud people like me... and Ogaming...well, they already have me
Indeed, now that Dark and Light is dead to me, I need a new forum to spam up. OGaming is a nice li'l forum, but it's just not all hunky-dorey official!
yes, I agree.... but it serves for the moment (certainly has the largest group of regulars ive seen in the fragment communities for TR.)
Unfortunately, I think that NCsoft is following the Auto Assault model.... some asshole in the marketing department convinced everyone that having the community form independant communities before the game went into beta would some how stimulate the interest for the game.... which is bullshit. waiting till beta to open an o-board destroys the fragment communties, as everyone rushes to join up with the offical community, and those people are further crushed by community members who's only purpose for being a part of the offical board is to get a beta invite and play the game for free, so they can say "this game sucks" and not buy it or contribute to its betterment.
NC is fucking up something severe by not supporting MMO communties. HELL, they'd be better of taking the boards down AFTER the game is released, than not having them early in the games development. after a game goes gold is a good time to spend more and more of your posting time on independant sites, and breaking away from the offical community as a whole...
Independant sites are NOT a place to "build" a community.... they are an overflow, for when the community becomes saturated with members, and older members need a place that is more "homey.
....so, two fingers to whatever dickhead decided that offical boards werent necessary.
I couldn't agree more, Mr. Cruise! Their model has resulted in a shattered and also quite inactive fanbase, something which I can't imagine will help them.
I have tried to follow the development of Tabula Rasa ever since it was announced that Garriott had plans to make a new mmorpg. That was somewhere in 2000, if I am not wrong, after he resigned from EA (that bought Origin) and started his own company, and before his joint venture with the biggest online game maker in the world (NCSOFT).
Too bad that the initial Tabula Rasa, with a lot of surrealistic settings, didn't turn out to be what he had hoped for, and therefore had to be redesigned on many parts.
As others here, I too hope that an official forum is soon to be opened.

Welcome Gilgamesh!
Looking forward to seeing you on the new forums. Glad to hear they are coming soon. I'm all a shiver.
hmm gilgamesh shouldn't you contact the mmorpg.com staff so they can give you a more appropiate title instead of novice member?
