I have play WoW for few years now but this last 4 month have made me start to wonder if blizzard only want to earn money and total ignore the game at whole.
WoW 2 last patch 5.3 an 5.4 is total crap and with all this add 3 button to there in game shop and this new feature $60 to skip content + you have pay subscribe top thing off is not my cup of tea but atlest ESO i have more of mmorpg feeling and i have been in beta now for while and honest i go to play ESO and i hope honest to god that wont go F2P atm the it is P2P and when come Wildstar i dont think i go to play that i have sign up for beta from day 1 and still no invite + im not big fan of ncsoft also Wildstar have way to much off WoW look to be honest.
Sorry dude but if you don't like either those find another genre to play other than MMORPG
There is literally something for ever type of player in those games
Either of those games only represents a relatively small fraction of the available MMO types, claiming that liking neither means they don't like MMO's is implying that if you don't like Chess then you should stop driving a car, its a ridiculous argument.
There are a lot of MMO's coming out this year, not to mention the shear volume of games that are already out there, ESO and Wilderstar are just 2 drips in a very large pond
Everyone with a brain should be skipping these. TESO will just make you want to play Skyrim and Wildstar will just make you want to play WoW......I guarantee it.
Originally posted by TheCrow2k I won't be playing either of them. Elder scrolls series strength is its single player, I don't see that translating well to an MMO. Wildstar from original video to what actually is in the game is quite dissapointing so its a pass from me.
WoW was the same it was a RTS from start call Warcraft and see what happen the have been top dog for almost 10 year now so why Elder scrolls pull off???
Atlest Elder scrolls have more document lore and i even think the have more lore then WoW have if you look at WoW 2 last expansion Cata did have much lore related to any other lore deathwing i see 1 time before he come a raid boss nice going on that one. MoP have all alot of lore for Pandaria but not much lore that related to anything outside Pandaria and well WoD you go back in time to stop 1st war i mean it feel like blizzard make thing up as the go along.
Take Age of Conan the have add thing from Robert E. Howards books which mean the have alot of lore and story which make it easy for them add epxansion and patch the fit in to game lore wise why as i say early it feel blizzard made thing up as the go which in the end dont make much since.
Originally posted by flizzer Wildstar just looks horrid. I cant get past the WoW style look. WoW might even look better, although that is , of course, a subjective assessment.Ive looked at some videos of ESO and the recent PvP. Im playing GW2 and they recently had an update to WvW which I am loving. I understand everyone is saying it is not the same as GW2 PvP, but it does look similar. Is that worth 15 a month for me? Probably not. And I am an Elder Scrolls fan. Little more uncertain on the PvE side of the game. If the PvE was awesome I might consider it, but it seems it is just more of the same we have seen for years.Yes, I will probably pass on both of these.Or course, when they go F2P I might check them out.
When I first saw Wildstar, I immediately thought Torchlight 2. I like that they're trying to be a little silly. A little humor in my games go a long way.
When I saw their first video, I thought "Firefly Cartoon MMO!" I enjoy a light-hearted game now and again, too. Some of my favorite moments were in WoW with their "silly quests", like the Troll Shaman you toted about for a bit, the Mechanical Yeti, getting spider venom for Lunk the Ogre, collecting oily Wolf poop, and the goblin VS gnomes barroom fight. I was watching the development for awhile, but lost interest in it.
I'll be passing on both MMOs.
Instead, I'll be playing Morrowind again soon, after I get done with Skyrim and modding Morrowind a great deal. I'll sprinkle in some computerized boards games I have on my PC, every now and then. I've been hankerin' for a little Star Wars, so a few of their titles will get some playtime, too

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
At this point in time skipping both. Just too much of the same and though both look really well made I have zero interest. Playing Landmark and building with an eye towards combat and eventual content creation.
Granted it's partly my seething hatred towards NCSoft that's coloring my choices there, but even if they weren't involved I don't think I'd go for Wildstar - it just doesn't appeal to me.
Yeah, I actually kinda like Wildstar's sense of humor and art direction, but, ya know, NCSoft (may they rot in hell). ESO maybe. Now that they fixed the stupid racial locking, I am warming up to it, despite its other design quirks.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
I don't see why skipping them is really an answer, unless you're strapped for cash or need a break from MMOs all together.
Sure, two subscription games. Realize that one releases before the other, so you have a fair chunk of time to dedicate on figuring out if TESO is or isn't for you. Then you can pack up and try out Wildstar. It's not like many far greater titles will be releasing shortly after.. and I've a feeling that the WoW crowd is burnt out (old timers).
The reason I don't think skipping is a great idea is because, yes, I'm skeptical, too. Sometimes the worst things can turn out to be better than expected. It won't replace the perfect MMO in your mind, but it might bring you a familiar sensation, and that's really what you're looking for at this point.
When I did a weekend beta of TESO, I was stunned. I hated the game... for so many reasons. They hadn't told us anything, and I felt like the devs were like a bunch of toddlers. Then I tried it out, and.. I was flipped 360. Did not see that one coming.
I guess, maybe give them a chance before you write them off? They haven't even released yet, and you haven't even tried either of them. There is no real harm, unless once again, your wallet is dry.
Still no bloody key for Wildstar but wavering towards ESO as I actually got to test it and rather enjoyed it,will be giving Archeage a bash soon should be fun bumbling about in the Russian Beta.
Though if that looks good or if I just click with it I'll then wait to see how ESO progresses no rush I have plenty to keep me busy in the mean time and still liking the look of Black Desert but that might be a while yet.
I wont be throwing money at games "potential" just because its there. i've play both games and came out needing convincing to keep playing. so i probably wont be playing either. i get more gameplay value out of games like marvel heroes and guild wars 2 10x

Honestly I am starting to think a lot of the HATE towards these sub based games is based on this reality.
My wife and I usually buy EVERY new game that releases that we even have remote interest in. I am at 12 games supported on kickstarter and 500ish games in my steam library.
We have ALWAYS have more disposable income than sense, always buying 3 -5 collector's copies of pretty much everything.
This year for the first time ever we pulled up short and have taken the time to look long and hard at our finances.
Like most of the 90% over the past 5 years we have both taken substantial hits to our income, at the same time the COL continues to show uncontrolled cost increase especially in the bare essentials like food, power, and fuel.
Honestly I can see how the state of the world economy could be playing a huge part in all this angry and hated towards the sub model.
However even the critics of the sub model point out how it is flawed and generates less capital than a F2P model, maybe that is the point.
Maybe the money guys did some projections and realized the F2P gravy train is coming to an end with the whales running out of disposable income, maybe Zenimax and NCSoft are trying to get ahead of a projected market turn.
Well one of my friends was agitating me to buy TESO and i almost did that. But luckily before that i managed to see closed beta. And after that I'll never buy this game.
As for Wildstar i can only judge by videos/live steams like recent Angry Joe one. And so far i didn't saw something impressive. So maybe I'll try it but after initial start with all its problems.
Skipping both to continue the wait for Blade & Soul. I'm tired of buying into bad games just because there's nothing else good to play.
Hurry up NCSoft, delaying B&S for Wildstar is NOT WORTH IT. We've waited long enough.
B&S is not even coming this year. They clearly said the regions which they are gonna release it this year in their conference and it didn't included NA/EU so have fun waiting.

I'll be skipping both, neither appeal to me. Wish them both the best though.

I find this thread to be a total violation of the rules here. A blatant troll attempt to bait others into getting angry.
This thread was ONLY started after the " Are you going to skip ESO to for wildstar? " thread backfired on the troll that posted it.
I don't care if you are a troll or a viral marketer working for NCSoft, either way knock off the crap.
it is more than obvious ESO is going to be a huge success in spite of all the attempts to lie about it and make it come out otherwise.
If you don't like the sub model go play SWTOR or any one of the other 1000 fail F2P titles out there.
played both and.. skipping both.
Nothing new or revolutionary, just the same old and overproduced recipe.
But if i had to choose one this could be WildStar. The other one is broken and rip-off.
