it suprises me how far SWG has fallen

I did a quick count and SWG is now ranked 42 out of 93 released games here on www.mmorpg.com I knew SOE was an inept company and has no sense of customer service, but even with all those billions in cash and the star wars franchise 42 is the best they can do!?!

I would say the upside of it would be that other companies would take note of how *not* to treat their loyal customers.  Sadly, other big companies are just as blind to such things.

They weren't lying when the they called it "An Empire Divided" when it launched.

RIP SWG

The worst part about the whole thing is the arrogance involved by SOE and LA, especially when I saw that interview with Torres on G4. They truly felt that they could do what they wanted and anyway they wanted. Now don't get me wrong that is their right, they are responsible for the game after all. Just as easily it is our right to say "by the way this sucks and we are outta here." I can't think in all possiblities that they felt there would be this type of negative feedback on this scale. I am sure they thoguht that it was a few voices overreacting and we would come crawling back. I hope that people show some more conviction and prove that they couldn't have been more worng. Maybe then the arrogant will be put in their place and pay the price for it.

Yeah it is pretty ironic to see how LA and SOE became the one thing that the Star Wars saga conveyed to it's audience over the years... beware of the Empire. They basically have become power hungry, arrogant, greedy meglo-maniacs (Empire) whom could care less about the actual people want and need (gamers). by implementing the NGE without any real consideration for the veterens, they showed their true underlying contempt for us vets and what we enjoyed. either way it has opendd my eyes and made me a more observant consumer when getting involved with any MMORPG.

Arnott Nostromo - SWG/MBH dead because of SOE's NGE

Kreeping Death - City of Villians and is canceled due to a horrid lack of depth

Padan Fain - UO/TH still going strong (old habits are hard to break)

Its eerie to go over to the AC2 forum and note the similarities between what was going on in that game right before they announced cancellation, and whats going on with SWG now.          image

Guess you never saw the warcry forum following the archer nerfs in 2002 or so in DAoC .

That was way worse as there was total spam of people claiming the game be dead in 6 months.

It even had a very visible drop in numbers on the servers. But 2006 DAoC is still going strong.

Gonna be hard to kill a mmo with a star wars theme .Very very hard.

Of course, DAOC did release classic servers which helped to quell the unrest and their archer nerf really wasnt comparable in scope to SWG's comedy of errors over the last six months.   Additionally, DAOC doesnt need the same numbers that SWG needs in order to survive.

Regardless, AC2 is the most recent MMO to fail that im familiar with, and the similarities between what happened with the Devs there and what is going on with SWG is striking, at least in my opinion.    /cheers      image
