pathetic desperation: Hurry - Imperial Edition Quantities Very Limited?

That's the subject line of an email Zenimax has sent out today.  Are people so dumb today that they will believe you can run out of digital copies of something?

 

I'm finding it very difficult to come to terms with giving money to people that treat me like a total moron.  From the beginning the marketing of this game has been deceptive, sleazy, desperate, and pathetic.  Quantities are NOT limited, and only letting preorders have race freedom is pathetic. 

 

Is this the world we live in?  Are developers and publishers and marketers living in cardboard boxes such that they must beg and lie to keep from starving?  Because ya know there are people who are truly hurting, and truly unemployed right now.  Believe it or not, some of them have real marketing and coding skills.

    You dont need imperial edition to take advantage of the any race feature, so you ask yourself 2 questions.

     

    Are you going to play the game? If yes, then why arent you willing to preorder, if no then who gives a shit about pre order.

     

     

    And the box edition of the CE is limited, the digital not so much.

    I'd much rather they make money in this fashion than some broken F2P model which basically turns into Pay-to-Win.  I find it mystifying that people are shocked and upset that companies are out for money.  Our Capitalistic Society is built on the foundation of companies making a buck.  And it has proven highly efficient compared to the alternatives.  Without that motivation, you end up with the DMV everywhere and standing in line for toilet paper.

    That actually happened just when i went out to buy my copy from GW2 from Anet. I guess they start limiting new players when they feel that the server loads are exceeding their capacity. Had to wait a full week because of it :(

     Yes, they are pathetic, the game sucks, you dont like the game, you dont like the developers, you hate Elder Scrolls, you hope the game will be a failure, we get it, now move along and find something you really like. Quietly.

    I got the same email. It literally had a picture of the Imperial Edition box set lol. He is just trying to cause a stir.

    Umm.. quantities CAN BE LIMITED.. you know how? THEY SET A LIMITED NUMBER AVAILABLE SO THAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT ARE ACTUALLY SOMEWHAT UNIQUE. almost ALL games that release stuff like this do this. Founders packs always get discontinued. WTF are you screaming about? If you dont want to buy it .. dont buy it.. but dont come here and say Zenimax is treating you unfairly. You think they are treating you like a moron, but it turns out that they are fairly correct. L2Think.
