Warning for "Necro" a topic?

Ok logged in tonight and found I have recieved a warning from a moderator for "necroing" a post- what the hell is that mean?

 

Sorry if nub question but i really dont have a clue what it means as to why I got the warning :P

    You committed necromancy on an old thread. You posted in an old, dead thread. How old is old?  On average anything more than a month old might be a necro. It also depends on the forum. If it isn't very active then older threads might be ok.
