I know i do.
When TESO was confirmed, i though "Bethesda does not make MMO's, this is gonna be generic."
I did not really care if it was i still thought that any game were your in Tamriel with friends would be cool.
Well after following if for some time,
and playing a couple of Beta weekends i can say that this game is not just
"a mmo in TES universe." Its more than that. Its....special. By special i mean not generic. You know, like Rift.
Opinions? Anyone else?

Not generic. Like, lets say, RIft for example.
I heard nothing but horrible reviews about this game, but nobody could give me details as to why the game was so bad.
I just assumed this game was going to be total crap.
I've played in 1 weekend beta so far and I really had a blast. After doing research on the game and what it's about, I'm gone from not caring whatsoever about this game, to being extremely excited to play it.
Did a complete 180.
At least you didn't pull that awful Xbox 360 joke
I don't own a console.... what's the joke?
Nope. Been on the PTS for awhile now. I knew what was going on. It was funny reading all the wild speculation and assumptions though. All I could say was never make assumptions based on wild speculation. This has been the case time and time again with mmo's. I swear the internet media must be part of the problem so they can get more clicks off the controversy...
Cheers!

Umm no! Forget I said anything...really.
I'm not sure Rift is a great example, since it's F2P and has a decent cash-shop. Trion is on the ball to keep customers, and Rift has been around for years as proof, if there is any doubt.
ESO is P2P with a cash-shop, that is perceived (by myself and others) to expand, given how Zenimax has shown that people who pay more, get more, in-game. I know I've had enough of non-gamer corporations trying to suck as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time.
If Zenimax did physical items in their CE entirely, then there would be no issue. But alas, not the case. Even given ESO, with a rich dynamic for customization (via ES), Zenimax could have stuck with that. Also, alas, no.
Well you asked the question, and in the past year, my opinion of ESO has diminished some.
Zenimax could have a good game in 1-2 years, but they really need to get it together as far as PR goes. Fans will buy the game (and quit soon after), new people on the fence will stay on the fence because the game is empty, come Fall / Winter.

something like this...
Why is it called the 360? b/c that's what you will do after playing it, do a 360 and walk away...
I was pretty uninterested in the game. Like many others, I just thought it was going to be bland and generic. The general opinion seemed to confirm this, so when I went to try the beta, I expected very little. The first beta made me realize it wasn't what I was I thought but I only gave it a little bit of my time. My second beta, however, hooked me. Preordered the Imperial Edition shortly after.
So, yeah, I've done a complete 180 on this game, and that seems to be a pretty common experience. It seems like ESO has somewhat of a reverse hype problem. Instead of people getting hyped up too much and crashing hard when their expectations are not met, people expect very little from ESO and then find out it has a great deal to offer.

My opinion went from "don't know, don't care" to "this might be as good as Rift". So I pre-ordered and am looking forward to it now.

If you do a 360, you end up back where you started, which would make it hard to be walking away.

Yes.
I was trying to stay away from the hype, was burnt out from multiple MMO's, and I wanted to get to launch and see the game for what it was, not deal with expectations and developers doing the two step, and not including certain things.
I tried the first stress test a few months ago, and walked away saying "meh", and thought it might just be another one of the recent titles that just did nothing for me. In January I tried it again, and things started to click, and I became a fan. I realized that the game was far from perfect, had bugs (been there before...) but it was something that I really enjoyed.
So yes, my opinion definitely changed.
i agree with all the green, i was all for eso so much so that i smooth talked alot of my wildstar friend's into looking into it, i was for sure it was going to be the next thing but after getting into the private beta and testing it i saw it was a huge fail of a game mainly because its has so little to keep people playing. i have no doubt that eso will have their number go down a couple of months after launch because its endgame is pretty much boring and/or just not there.
Witty & Wicked
That's the point of it being really stupid yet I read it all the time in Mmo's. It's troll bait, kinda like how you just took a bite
I pulled a 180 after the second beta weekend
first beta was boring, glitchy and lack luster, i chose the ebonheart pact and it sucks, i quit testing after i reached level 5
then i reroll another character in the aldmeri dominion, it was so much more interesting and i enjoy the leveling process and hit lv10, then the Pvp won me over.
I wasn't planning to pre-order at all and i changed my opinion after i spent some time in Cyrodill./
I did a full 270 turn.
Seriously I went from liking it, to hating it, and now with the more recent changes, it's starting to sound slightly interesting again. I am afraid I will not make a complete 360 though as I feel that game isn't really worth the sub. For me, a game has to be ground breaking for me to be willing to pay a sub.
my hype level about this game has changed for he better ever since about august 5th 2013.
more by default though. ive always been looking forward to checking it out though, since it was announced.
Heard the ESO beta from a forum on december 2013 and signing up for the beta. The first thing that popped out was the elder scrolls name so I registered. Researched a bit about the game. Read the forums and stuff finding a lot of negative feedback, and people were saying NDA NDA all over. Have a skeptical outlook on the game. Actually played the beta during the stress test and got me interested during cold harbour (seriously) tutorial. I did get somewhat disappointed when I tried exploring by swimming on a starter islands only to be eaten by a slaughter fish. Well, the journey after starter islands, reaching more than level 10, and finishing the three instanced dungeon, the game upgraded from interesting to instant buy. I bought the imperial edition thereafter. Got me hyped more when I looked at the PvP videos especially small group PvP against medium sized group.

I've been to a lot of F2P games, and asian subscription model games such as ragnarok online. My last MMO was Path of Exile and I decided to quit on it due to the end game content, and desyncs. I was Forced to get health buffs/energy shield buffs rather than skill which is pretty uninteresting in a PvE scenario, and RNG being retard when enemies one hit you.
My first notable MMO would be Shattered Galaxy/Tactical Commanders. It's an MMORTS. The PvP there is somewhat nostalgic of the PvP here, although the former one is more complex. I've tried the PvP of other F2P games and it felt lackluster. Hopefully, the PvP is at least on the same level with my first notable MMO.

I knew it would be awful the moment I heard about it, tried the beta and it was what I expected. The combat is clunky, I mean I always felt skyrims combat was the worst part of the game and this is like a watered down skyrim. The voice acting is shit, the story is cheesy.
