Rapid Reality is hiring again and they specifically asked that our readers be told about it. Below you can find a wide range of jobs they're seeking to fill and information on how to apply - should you meet the requirements. Rapid Reality is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Position: Gameplay Programmer

Rapid Reality is currently seeking additional programming staff to assist with our ongoing projects. The individual must meet all of the below requirements and have a strong desire to work in the game industry. The individual will report to a lead programmer and be responsible for adding features to an existing engine with a given deadline.

Required Skills:

  • Strong C++ Programming Skills
  • At least three years programming experience
  • Experience with Game Programming
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2000, and Windows Server 2003 Operating Systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    Exceptional Math Skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Familiar with animation concepts and overall game development
  • Knowledgeable with MS-SQL Integration
  • Knowledge of Shader Programming
  • Experience with Linux development

Position: FX ARTIST

      The Rapid Reality team is now seeking to fill open positions for Effects artists for a variety of games. The applicant would also be comfortable with 3DS Max, Maya, and/or 3D programs, illustration, modeling, rigging, and or textures. Creative thinking is a must, as well as a solid work ethic.  An eager desire to learn engine capabilities is also needed. Experience in the industry is always a plus.


Position: TEXTURE ARTIST

      The Rapid Reality team is now seeking to fill open positions for texture artists to help with their current game load. Tiling textures and trim textures for interiors and even character texture work will be part of the job. Understanding the workings of UVs a must. A working knowledge of Max or Maya is needed, and other skills pertaining to the field are always welcome.

Experience in the industry is desired, as well.



Position: CONCEPT ARTIST

The Rapid Reality team is now seeking to fill open positions for concept artists with complimentary skills in texturing as well. Technical knowledge of 3D Max or Maya is desirable, as is experience in the game industry.

The conceptual artist will need good communication skills, fast sketch capability, and a knowledge of texture painting. Further gaming skills would be appreciated.




Position: ENVIRONMENTAL ARTIST

      The Rapid Reality team currently has openings for a talented and enthusiastic environmental artist with an passion for online game construction. Applicants would be comfortable in 3DS Max, Maya, and/or 3D programs of similar caliber. World layouts, dungeon layouts, object modelling, and creative abilities would be useful.

Experience in the industry is definitely a plus.


Position: 3D CHARACTER ARTIST

      The Rapid Reality team is looking for an experienced 3D Character Artist to work on amazing new games.

Tool skills would include Photoshop, 3D-Studio Max, and or similar programs such as Maya. The Character Artist must be skilled in both modeling and texturing a variety of characters or creatures. Other skills, such as creative concept drawing, rigging or animation would. The ideal person will have worked in the industry for at least a year.


Position: Network Administrator

Rapid Reality, LLC is currently seeking a Network Administrator to plan, architect, implement, maintain and support all current and future corporate networks.  Ideal candidate will have 4+ years experience as a network administrator working with Active Directory, Exchange mail servers, Windows 2000 servers, Windows 2003 servers.  Candidates must have experience implementing network solutions from the ground up in a 50 to 100+ workstation size environment, and a 10 to 20 server environment.  Candidates must have willingness for 24 hour on-call support.  Network Administrator may also have opportunity to be involved with game testing, web development, community support. 

Required Skills:

  • Experience in supporting Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 operating systems.
  • Experience supporting and configuring laptop, desktop and server systems
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of TCP/IP and the related services…DNS, WINS, and DHCP
  • Experience with routers, switches, hubs, Wireless Access Points, VPN, RAS, and Citrix a plus
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years experience supporting the following: o Microsoft Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000/2003
    • Microsoft Active Directory o Server Backup Systems and Software o UPS’s, Hubs, Switches, and other networking related hardware
  • Minimum of 2 years experience supporting the following:
    • Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Microsoft Exchange 2003
  • Other beneficial experience and exposure to:
    • VPN, Dial-Up, and other Remote Communication technologies o Routers, Firewalls, and other advanced network technologies o Video Conferencing Systems

  • Passion for gaming

Position: Office Manager

Rapid Reality, LLC is a developer and publisher of massively multiplayer online role playing games located in Marietta, Ga.

Rapid Reality is currently seeking to fill an Office Manager position.  Responsibilities include human resources, payroll, purchasing, accounting, meeting and travel scheduling, event planning, assistant to management, data entry, office organization and phone reception.

Rapid Reality is currently seeking to fill technical writer positions.  This position requires the Technical writer to identify, review and document all current processes, technologies and platforms.  Must be experienced in functional / technical writing and must possess some technical background.

Rapid Reality is currently seeking to fill web and client tools programmer positions.  Ideal candidates will have 2+ years experience with .NET development in client/server and web environments.
