I haven't been frequenting this forum, so forgive me if the topic has been discussed exhaustively, but am I the only one who finds that the interface design leaves much to be desired? It's not so much the mechanics of the interface, but I find the actual design elements quite bland and even ugly at times. I understand that the developers intend for the interface to be unobtrusive as possible, but I find myself struggling to connect with the world when my window into that world feels unpolished.
Guild Wars 2, in my opinion, offers a beautifully-designed interface that incorporates many design elements reminiscent of the art style of the actual game world. It's clear that they put much effort into it. Of course, GW2's interface belongs in GW2 and I'm not suggesting that the developers remotely strive for something similar in ESO, but it would be great if they "prettied" it up a bit.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

Im the opposite, I was really getting into exploring and enjoying the world without all the cooldowns and numbers or other UI elements to keep track of.
Then again I was playing in First Person.
That being said, my understanding is the UI can be modded.

From the ESO faq:
What kind of addons will be supported by the game?
Maria Aliprando, one of ESO devs, has confirmed that the UI of the game is fully modable for LUA scripting. That means, if you have enough knowledge you can create different tools such as Damage Meters, Healing Over Time meters, tools for crafters, raiders and other useful programs.
So probably not worth getting too hung up about it as there's bound to be a range of cosmetic options appearing once the addon guys get going.
With impeccable timing another post popped up linking this site:

OP - hopefully you'll be able to mod your UI the way you like.
Thanks for the links! My issue isn't with the actual mechanics of the interface (i.e. the lack of cooldowns etc.). Those are quite refreshing, giving more of a window into the world. It's the actual design of the interface elements when they do appear. I find those quite boring.
Hopefully a couple of mods will allow me to pretty it up a bit.
I agree.
I too wish for some more info and stuff, conviences to organize what I am doing. Name tags, minimap, PVP commander tags, chat bubbles, combat info. Stuff like that. But there will be addons, players can make for the UI.
The ESO UI looks really like a first gen stoneage UI.

Target Enemy Player Live PvP Stats
If you watch just off center of screen, you will see the UI mode display target enemy players [Name, Class, Level, Health/Stamina/Magicka Pools, Buffs, Debuffs, and Spell Casting Interrupt Timer]
If you don't mind having the option to playing the game at a disadvantage, or if you would like to play having the option that goes against what they've said in interviews.
UI mod from video directly contradicts this statment. Client side superficial are fine, but not when its live data used against others .. knowingly or not. Contradiction with the allowance for much UI mods.** Quotes from TF.com Development FAQ **

They have heard our concerns.
Not really, but I like a minimalistic interface.
Having said that, the modding community will spruce it up for you if that's your thing.
