Hey all,
I am looking for a MMO to one day replace my love of RvRing on DAoC.. I don't play the game anymore (haven't in a while) but just wondering is something is going to ever rival this game?
I know, I know.. there are some good MMO's out there.. WoW, EQ2, blah blah blah.. None have the End Game i'm looking for. Full Scale PvP with meaning...
I hear a lot about Darkfall... Is this a game that could satisfy my appetite? have any other suggestions to look into on games being worked on?
I can tell you this much.. In my personal opinion as of right now, there is no game that rivals the concept of DAoC's RvR system.. I'm hoping something will come out one day that has the same general idea.
Love any suggestions you can give!

Age of Conan!
Download the preview trailer and see. That trailer gives me goosebumps every time! The music is AMAZING!

Look into RF online ...its coming soon and features 3 faction pvp which sounds like it may be similar to Daoc. I havent tried it myself but many here seem to be looking forward to it.
As far as Darkfall goes ... I hope it turns out to be a good game but I would not wait for just that one. It has potential to be a great game... but also has some signs of being a flop:(
Also the obvious would be Warhammer...but thats way of still

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
So many promise so much, and deliver so very little.
But some people have already posted some games that may whet your appetite, and also look into Roma Victor.

Age of Conan will be your best bet
maybe Tabula Rasa if they can make up their damn mind what sort of game they actually want to make. I always thought the game idea came first, then the name.

The three hottest games on the horizon right now are Age of Conan, Gods and Heros, and The Chronicles of Spellborn. Shout out as well to Hero's Journey.
The Game List on this site has details about all these games and many others. Its fun to just browse through them.

I am adding another vote for Age of Conan
I am also unable to contain my extreme hatred of the Redskins and feel inclined to say I hope the Seahawks beat them into oblivion next week. I hope the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits and other horrible stuff befalls them, oh yeah and I hope they cry all the way home next week.
People are so pessamistic of the Korean market. They should really be woring about the US market with the flops of Dark and Light, Mourning, and Irth Online; not to mention the degredation in mmo's seen in nearly every SOE game.
There is Huxley that I am pretty sure will be open PvP; then a few good ones are SUN, Granado Espada, and Ragnarok Online 2. There is also Kung Fu online, but that might not hit the states; there are also a few others in the same situation.
LOL!! U must be a BUCABABY FAN.. I hate BUC fans, go colts and RAMS!
RF Online is looking okay, but not really.. Best Bet: Stick to Everquest II, WoW, Lineage II, SWG, or whateva mmorpg you are playing for about another year..
PS: When is Pirates of Burning Sea coming out?

I am currently watching Chronicles of Spellborn and Age of Conan.....high hopes for both of these....something to replace SWG which I cancelled along with most of the rest of the world lol.
Actually I am a Cowgirl all the way
Go Cowboys
But I do like the Bucs alot and would put them as my 3rd favorite team perhaps.
So I hate the Redskins a TON and always will, lol Now I have to hope the hated Giants fail tomorrow
Nope, all the up and coming MMO's are complete and utter crap.
And I'm sure you could do better...
I did check out Age of Conan, and the company seems to be promising some really interesting things. I'll watch that one closely.
I had looked at RF Online a while ago.. Looks interesting.. I know its in beta now all over the place, so I guess I might wait and hear from others how it is before I decide on this one...
BTW, Someone mentioned DnL being made on US soil... Wasn't this created by a French team or something?
Thanks guys for all the great Input.

PvP really isn't my thing, but Pirates of the Burning Sea looks pretty interesting in that regard. Apparently there will be different nations capturing ports and basically waging naval battles for territory (and therefore resources and trade routes). As far as that goes, it looks like it's more than just fighting for the sake of fighting, which is what you seemed to be looking for in your original post. I'm more interested in Hero's Journey for entirely different reasons, but you might take a look at PotBS and see if it'd appeal to you.
