(QUESTION) 10day trial expires!

I heard that SOE would not charge me a penny is I decide to stay with SWG after my 10day trial is up.. So, I can pratically get the "Starter Kit" for FREE? After the 10day trial, will I have the 30day trial thingy just like I bought the retail game? Due to Player Madness, popularity, and what not will SOE lower the monthly cost down to 11 or 12 USD? Off-topic question about HARDWARE.. Here are my system specs (As of Feb. 06, thats when my upgrading will take place!)

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2
On Board Sound (5.1)
1.25gig of RAM (1X1gig, 1X256mb)
CABLE Modem (Netgear Router)
ATI RADEON 9600XT 256mb (overclocked at 600mhz clock speed (core).

I guess thats everything.. THANK YOU, and you can respond to my poll if you want!

They wont charge you anything, you just have to buy the game and then you can continue playing. There are no plans on lowering the monthly fee so far.

They didn't charge me anything and I didn't have to cancel anything either.

As usual, I am impress by how nicely done and professionnal SoE are, too bad they are unable to understand a simple sentence like:  Group uberness belong to groupers and not to raiders!

Maybe I should learn Japanese!  image

But I am still listening to SoE everytime they launch a new game, a new expension or a new server, eventually they will hit right...or not!  image

PS: The reason I didn't stick with SWG is mostly me, I didn't put the time to check the game fully, it was nice, but I dislike the controls and the Interface in general for some reason, didn't like how my character reacts and how I need to maintain the fire button on a moving target...I could have learn and appreciate it, but returning to CoV was the easy way around.  Despite my unloyal demeanor...I am kinda conservative.  The fact they screw folks who previously play the game and that I was having no idea whatsoever at what their end game would be like, even after some input here (eh, maybe I am a slow learner)...well, I just take the easy way around.  I know I know, I am getting old and grumpier if such a thing is possible for anyone to conceive!  image

They will bill you $15 every month. The first month will be a bit more when they sell you the starter kit. As for your system you left out your CPU but otherwise not bad.

Sorry about leaving off my CPU.. I'm so dumb.. Here it is!

    AMD Athlon XP 3000+

I guess the CPU is alright, I believe its eqivalent to a P4 3.0ghz?

Wait a minute I'm confused.. Will I recieve a $20.00 bill in my credit card if I continue to play without buying the starter kit at a retail store? So, I should not buy the starter kit at a local retail store?

Actually, according to this article, http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/columns/video_games_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001698964 it seems that it you don't even have to pay for the starter kit once the trial runs out.  You simply click Continue at the end of the trial and then pay the monthly fee from there.  Essentially, the game is now free to get image

I stand corrected, they'll bill you $15 right away and every month after that. Slightly cheaper if you pre-pay, but for how little you save I'd strongly advise against that, SOE is infamous for their anti-consumer refund policy. It may also make more sense to phone your order in as you should then get Kashyyyk free as well now, not sure if the cost is the same. Probably an extra $5 I'd guess, cheaper than buying it seperately which you'll need to to eventually. The way they're continuing to hemorrage accounts Mustafar will probably be added for free soon as well but you probably don't want to wait the extra couple weeks. Sorry I can't give you the phone #, they're not airing the commercial in any markets other than the US. One final thing to remember, the free trial is a bait-and-switch scam, the real game is nowhere near as populated, has a lot more bugs and a lot more grinding once you run out of quests.

If they're also giving ROTW away free now, then you won't run out of XP quests until you're 80ish :)

As far as I know it's ONLY included for phone orders, not online or retail. Though given the level of desperation obvious in their giving the game and now 2 of the 3 recent expansions away (almost) free you might be able to talk them into giving it to you as a digital download. Nah, who am I kidding, this is SOE, once they've got your money they don't care what you want/say/think, unless it gets them more money.
