Vote: Should we be allowed to skip level grind to play Cyrodil PvP?

Should we be allowed to skip level grind to play Cyrodil PvP?

Seem like a large useless grind simply to unlock PvP aspect of the game.

I understand that PvE is another important aspect of the game, but does it really need to block off the PvP to unlock it?

What if you couldnt play the PvE gameplay until you unlocked a certain rank in PvP? How would you like that?

I don't know man, maybe I was doing it wrong but leveling felt super slow in Cyrodiil.  I don't even know that I feel it's a real alternative to PvE leveling... which is a shame...

You can join the AvA at level 10, and level up in it if you want.  That's not what I would consider a grind.  I find your poll to be misleading and nonsensical.

Personally the PvP is the icing on the cake. I love that there isn't any specific PvP items. You can actually play the PvE game to gain better gear to increase your PvP survivability. This feels very old school to me and I love it.

I'll just put my previous comment on another thread here:

Press this button and skip some of the content you just purchased - lol

You know, they'll give that feedback for sure.

Let us skip to level 10 so we can PvP at once!

I don't think you'd be able to contribute much as a level 1 (or any low level for that matter).

I'm starting to get disgusted by gamers who are apparently addicted to MMORPGs (got to play them all) but want to skip half of the reason why these games are called MMORPGs in the first place. Too impatient and too bored as to not be able to follow story for 10-20 levels (level grind, are you kidding?), let alone read some of it. Read?! Am I mad?! I know right. MOBA generation at best...

I don't think it's impatience and boredom in a situation like this. The PVP is a whole different game. IMO, Guild Wars did it right. The people that wanted to play for the PvP could skip the PvE and go straight to PvP. There's no reason to make someone wade through (and pay monthly to do so) a bunch of unrelated content they don't want just to get the the content they bought the game for.

Of course there is a reason. That's the way they designed the game. This is not a PvP specific game. If you want a game that jumps straight to PvP then head back to LoL.

In no way should they make it possible never mind desirable (from a XP or gold per hour basis) to be able to skip pve and jump into pvp and level as fast or faster than pve.

We don't put babies in the armed forces and in the context of a war in a virtual world you should have to grow up in your faction and the wider world before you are allowed to go and fight for that world/faction in a major pvp zone.

For this reason I prefer pvp top be largely open world.  Players have an incentive to level so they are not such easy targets and so they can defend and fight other players.

I want to vote for an option that allows you to skip the whole game and play something that truly fits what you're looking for in a game.... oh wait that option exists already.

Lets just cut out the middle man.

Just take out all that annoying crap between buying the game and leaving in boredom/frustration.

Once we give them the money to play they will just send us a "tell us why you are leaving letter" which we fill in and move on.

Playing games these days is such hard work we NEED options to remove the requirement to even play them at all!!!!

The PvE grind is a major reason I'm not buying this (the monthly sub being probably the other biggest reason). If I could skip the PvE and start AvAing immediately and only AvA (unless I just wanted to PvE which sometimes happens), I would definitely buy it. It's why I've put my money towards Camelot Unchained instead of TESO. I've spent enough hours in my life doing boring PvE just so I could reach a point where I am competitive to do RvR. No mas.

That would be a great option for those call of duty type players.

    Voted Yes -

I myself do not have an issue with questing but the reason I voted yes was because of my friend I played with. He really did not even want to give TESO a shot but because I received the beta key for a friend he decided to give it a try.

He told me from the start he wasn't into PvE that he was PvP only. I explained in order to get to Cyrodiil he had to grind to lvl 10 first. And so the grinding began.

Not even 15 minutes into questing he begins complaining about being lost, not knowing where to go, who to talk too. I get this part of the game and like it, but for people like him that don't enjoy questing and grinding, they don't.

So after about 30 minutes of gameplay with him, he /rage quits.

Now, I didn't reply to this thread to hear about my lame azz friend or how I need to find new ones. I did this so maybe someone out there will read this and see that I am sure there are more people out there like this. The ones that don't have the patients enough to grind to lvl 10 to get to the PvP.

Just saying, they may end up loosing or not even attracting a big fan base due to this.

    /add 2 cents

If you feel the game is a grind and want to skip most of the game well you're probably better off playing something else.
  • hg2012hg2012 Member Posts: 69
You don't have to. just remember to hand in and repick up the bounty quest as often as possible, alternatively take a break and do some of the PvE repeatable quests in cheydinhal and other areas of the map.

PVP unlocks at level 10 which only takes a few hours to get to. The first 10 levels are usually tutorial anyhow.

I read somewhere they were going to add a way to skip the starter area, not sure if that will grant levels or what part it actually skips.

  • KnotwoodKnotwood Member CommonPosts: 1,103
I think if they are getting rid of starter zones, they should make the PVP zones accessible at level 5.    Its a reasonable enough time in game to get to know the controls enough to enter.
  • hg2012hg2012 Member Posts: 69

Ah the OP's on about starter levels?

I'm guessing that wouldn't be very wise giving people wouldn't have many skills unlocked, at least to level 10 allows someone to fill their bar up.

You're kidding right?! It takes all of 4-8 hours to hit 10. So you are saying that for all the hours of "pvp fun" that you would supposedly enjoy being that you are a pvper, you won't be buying a great game because you are too lazy? This actually reflects society today. People want to park at the front of the store because they can't walk 200 feet. They bitch and complain at work because they can't make the salary they think they are worth but don't want to make the effort to show what they are worth. It's a faccing shame. I honestly hope you don't play as I already can see one consequence of the "mega-server" and the lack of one more sloth will be at least one more step in the direction of a better community environment in ESO. So to you and "your camp" of like minded cattle....so long, have a nice day.

Hes right, it takes a few hours to get to 10. Personally I hate questing but I love mmos. If I can avoid questing I will find a way. The PVP is fun but to not even buy a game because you wont invest a few hours to get to the part you really love is a little odd.

Also whats with all the poor people that cant afford 50 cents a day to play a game ?
