What are the best sites for EQ2 information? With pvp announced to come out with the new expansion I have purchased the game and going to give it a go. I've done some google searches for EQ2 sites and found a few decent ones ie. Allakhazam, Warcry, Vault, Traders.
Are there some lesser known sites (even ones I may have to pay for) that are useful? Something like Thotbot for World of Warcraft?
What I was really hoping for was an EQ2 version of an old site I used to use for EQ1... I think it was called EQprices. Anyway it had a great sortable database of items, prices expected on each server, the quest or mobs to get them off. Was very easy to sort items by classes, damage, bonuses...whatever. None of the sites I have visited so far come close to that one for EQ2.

Good overall site though.

Oh. My. God.
Arremus is right ogameing.com is the best, but it's not the way Allakhazam was to EQ1.
Some times I find myself flipping from ogameing to Allakhazam becouse one will tell some of what you need and the othere has the rest of it. so for a one stop info spot I don't think theres one that has realy happen yet.
If you find one splzs repost it for all us to use.
but thats just me good hunting friends

Oh. My. God.
There are 3 sites IMO that are nessisary, and that I only use.
1. http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/ Quest help and much more (like thottbot for wow).
2. http://eq2.gamepressure.com/ Shows all the maps and has a nice cord pointer that you can use to see were to go etc, also has a quest database like ogaming.
3. http://www.eq2interface.com/ Addons. The only addon I use it EQ2map, I suggest you dl it.
Hope that helps you out.
BUT you can look here http://www.blackslinks.com/ for tons of other EQ2 helpful sites that might have the information you are laking.
Are any of the "pay" sites or guides worth signing up for in your experiences? What about downloadable guides?
ie. the Prima guide worth downloading? ($10)
I don't want to list any site names but some claim to have these amazing levelling guides and such (some just have hacks which don't interest me). I'm pretty skeptical of them and while I am not a power gamer I wouldn't mind a bit of an edge on the pvp servers when they come out.
I did forgit to say EQ2interface but I thought it was more for things like the ingame map and the UI's it has,but I may be missing a lot on that site.
I have the Prima guild got it at the same time EQ2 went live. helped out on the lower quest back then. and it only goes up to level 30 BUT here is the thing in just a week or two SOE is changeing th whole lower level of the game. Level 20 and be low is going to change and all there quest so that book will not help out at all.
as far as the paid guides I have not done any for EQ2 but I did spend a lot of money on them for EQ1 and not one ever realy helped. most info you will pick up in the game just by playing and talking to your group mates.
Ok for the PvP I think it want be the same as thy have it now. but if you want to git good at it the best thing to do is find some people who likes to do PvP and fight each othere.
but thats just me good hunting my friends
PS on the PvP thing watch out for them dang scout typ's thy can hurt you fast.
Prima guide is god awful. A friend of mine works at EB Games and I got to read it.
Its pretty worthless. Nice pictures etc, but you get more (if not better) info from the mentioned sites. Its also very outdated because EQ2 has had alot of serious changes since. Thats why its so cheap now.
The book boasts to have something like 300 quests which is pathetic. Im just level 36 and have done 346 quests. ogaming has info on over 2000 quests...
I know the "leveling guides" and they are pretty vauge, and not so very "ground breaking". Stay away from them is my advise. Just play the game and enjoy it as it was ment to be played.
Thanks a lot guys. Glad I followed my gut and didn't buy any of those guides or join any pay sites.
Can't wait to browse some of these sites...
