Confused, how it is a trap when all of us have played it and liked what we see. Just because we don't like your games, does not mean, we should like a game... Why would you care. When I dislike a game, I move on, I don't go to a forum to bash someones hard work.
I wish more gamers would make games, so they can see why, we get annoyed by senseless posts. We enjoy it, and you don't so nothing more to see here.
We have 450k unique hits for this game on this website in a single week... Most popular game over the las year had a total of 4M hits... Yes we are officially a hyped game now on MMORPG.com.
thats not a good thing or a bad thing... Its just a fact...
i personally enjoyed playing this game over the last three betas and am looking forward to playing it, yet i realise to see the imperfections that where far from perfect... Lets hope some of them improve over time and others dont turn in irritators... But for now, i am looking forward to enjoy tamriel as long as it longs.
There is a difference if a lot of people access a webpage about a game or if a game gets hyped in a forum/media.
I remember quiete well how games got overhyped in the last years i.e. swtor, GW2, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, xxxxxxx, xxx already in forums discussion before the game was released and before there were even mass beta tests.
In addition the PR propaganda in the game magazines did give their best to hype such games aswell.
I dont see such artificial hype in comparison to other released mmos in the last years. ESO got of course more attention in the last weeks. People rather weight the pros and cons and thats actually great since the game has its issues aswell, better than just overhype something.
First beta I played I was bored playing the game and seemed to be trying to make it fun.
Second beta very pissed about the grouping issues in the world itself. I play to group just to play with friends.
Third beta I only played for about an hour and just didn't care to log on.
Fourth beta I realized the depth of the game and got to enter PvP. There is so much under the surface that the game is actually good. And I decided to pre-order after the last beta.
I had written this game off and was just going to wait for EQN or Pathfinder Online but I will be playing EA of ESO and loving every minute of it.
So I went from this game being a piece of crap to being very hyped about the game. Now I just hope it doesn't do a STO on me.
I just find it funny due to the amount of hate this game received here since it's announcement. I was gone for about two months (hospital stay), came back to see all this positive feedback on ESO , my jaw dropped.

and all it took was for us to actually play the game.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the number of 'hits' or 'popularity' of a game on this website depends on the number of official articles written about a game on this website.
Publishers sponsor writers to have articles written about their games, and to have advertisements shown.
Why do you think that Star Citizen is the most hyped, but Elite: Dangerous isn't on the most hyped list? Both games are equally resourced, but the difference here is that the first game has a greater marketing budget.
Yeap.. articles and sponsored writers increase the hype and clicks. But and thats the point.. hits do say a lot more about hype of a game than the actual hype rating here on mmorpg.com.
ESO is one of the most hyped games at the moment because of the beta weekends and millions of beta keys.. who got not a beta key for ESO beta weekend?
And to compare Star Citizen with Elite Dangerous on hype level is just a joke.. one game has raised with crowd funding almost 40$ million the other barrely 5$ million.. of course there is a lot more hype for Star Citizen in comparsion to Elite Dangerous.
Though, hype does not say anything about the quality of the hyped product.. it just says there is a lot of hype around it.

Ummmm....no.
You as a user has to actually go to the hype page for that game and submit your hype.
First beta weekend I was unimpressed to say the least, then I got to second beta weekend and started playing it more getting more lvls under my belt and explored more, listening to the NPC and it felt ok now the last beta weekend I played it even more, explored alot more and did alot of crafting and PVP.
I have played in the past three beta tests/stress test and have preordered the physical, retail Imperial Edition. I am stoked, but oddly because the game reminds me of all the right things about Dark Age of Camelot! I'm stoked!
I am looking forward to playing it but I wouldn't say I am hyped. I have Titanfall next week and then after that I have Diablo 3 expansion and all month I have what ever they add the the Landmark alpha so I have plenty to do.
I really wish people could simply use the word "excited".
Using the term hype infers people lack the ability to excited about something on their own behalf and instead are just being controlled through mass media.
I am sure that most people here are simply excited to play a new game when it is released for their own reasons.
If you see an advertisement for something, IT IS NOT AN ATTACK ON YOUR SOUL!!!

Overhyped?
This game has been constantly labelled as complete garbage for how many months now? We finally have one weekend where everyone's not hating on the game, and now we're 'Overhyped'?
Do people on this site have an aversion to liking things and enjoying themselves or something? Last I checked it was possible to actually enjoy a game without being over hyped, a fanboy, or somehow delusional.
I played the last 2 beta weekends, and there's nothing that will stop me from playing ESO from the first day of Early Access !
Provided the servers don't melt, that is.
The next beta weekend will be VERY interesting, I've a sneaky suspicion that we'll get to play the release version (to all intents and purposes). I'm sure ZOS will make a final push to grab the maximum positive exposure at that point.
Hopefully, the servers don't melt. My stress level already melted during the last stress test. It will become lava when the server melts on release/early access

Im hyped, not over hyped. Been over hyped too many times in the last year or so to do it to myself again.
I did pre-order the CE on GMG for 20%off. So if i get a month or two out of it Ill be very happy.
I tried to never get hyped again after SWTOR.
I failed...
You mean like when they OVER HYPED Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn.
Look at it now! Doing better than ever.

Not based on how many articals there are.

Have now preordered Imperial box.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.
Thats why i'm subbing to FF.
But ESO will be the same.
Hate or no, i'm still subbing.
And ESO is beautiful. Of all the games faults, graphics are not one of them.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, South Park The Stick of Truth, inFamous Second Son, Dark Souls 2.
A crazy month for sure!
