Lets guess the PVP

If anyone has heard of or played smite...i'm guessing this is the type of combat system they are aiming for. It's new and fresh...and tbh a hell of alot of fun. With the videos i've seen of EQNL...this is more than possible and highly likely.

    Haven't heard of it. But it seems like they're going in the direction of action combat, which will of course be great for PVP. No more playing the UI! Time to play an action game in a fully destructible sandbox.

    I hope they have varying types of PVP in Landmark from survival PVP servers to player created arenas with various modes like CTF.

    100% positive they'll have segregated servers.  I.e. PvE, PvP and RP servers.

    Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

    Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

    Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

    I also think they will have multiple server rulesets. To be honest, I wish more games had combat like Savage 2, have any of y'all played that? I don't expect ranged to have FPS mode though.

    As long as they keep PvE and PvP balancing separate, it doesn't matter to me, I don't care for PvP or should I say just another first person shooter.

    Yeah if you look at the roadmap for closed beta - this coming week or next is phase 2. Phase 2 is including "death" and "ai combat". (landmark)

    i agree with you on that... and it would be cool if on the owpvp servers if players could stll makes arena's... ctf my favorite kind of game; imagine that in a maze with multiple levels ...

    i agree they made it quite clear during a video that is what they are looking  to do.   However, they hinted at having the "players" come up with new ideas that werent so basic  like the normal pvp , pve, rpvp, rp... i think they are going to be more specific servers that encompass certain rule sets... like some may have owpvp but u cant detroy others and/or conquer peoples plots of land on one server but on another server complete ow pvp and u can conquer what others have made and their plots.... I personally feel like there are going to be more  options and rule sets... the monsters(pve) may also have different rulesets on different servers u never know...

    I feel like eqn is attempting to push the envelope in terms of innovation, when the aggregation of mmorpg's have become stagnate/stale...

    I dont remember where the quote was but David Georgeson replied when asked about the balance in pvp in this game he said, with a mischievous smile, we are not planning on balancing classes for pvp...

     

    This makes perfect sense though.  With 40 or 50 classes + and being able to mix and match classes with others and weapon sets not to mention what a tier in a class someone is at... it would be very challenging at best...  buckle up for safety everyone, this will be wild ride :)  its about time!!!
