Lore, Quests and Exploration

Hello fellow travellers!

Ever wondered how the Alliances came to be? Why would Argonians, Dark Elves and Nords fight side by side? I give a brief explanation of the lore behind the Daggerfall Covenant, Aldmeri Dominion and Ebonheart Pact in the video below. I've also captured the beauty of each starter area with exploration and quest gameplay :)

If you've taken part in the beta weekends, which Alliance have you fought for? What did you like and dislike about the areas you explored? Bleakrock Isle was definitely a favourite of mine as I found the quests more captivating :)

First off, I want to say thank you for the video.

I chose Aldmeri Dominion.  I rather enjoy playing narcissistic races that feel their superiority makes them responsible for the betterment of all others, so I play a high elf.  I enjoyed the feeling of chance encounters with locals as I gained my bearings to better understand what my purpose was.  I agree that the starter area lacked direction and often I just stumbled on to quests, but this also helped feed my love of exploration and rewarded me for my curiosity.

After trying all three starting areas and since race does not lock you into starting area if you pre-order. I prefer

The Daggerfall Covenant as the best/fun starting area

    Then

The Aldmeri Dominion as the Khajiit quest line are fun

     but I did not like

    The Ebonheart Pact areas

The Aldmeri Dominion was the first zone I explored. I did love running around and traversing the island at my own pace, it's pretty picturesque. I also loved that some quest givers literally came running over a hill to seek my help, it made the environment more natural and immersive.

Do you think you'll explore the other locations at the next beta/when the game is released? :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Daggerfall starter area as most people I have spoken too has favoured Khenarthi's Roost/Aldmeri Dominion Starter Area! :D

I especially loved the different quests like the treasure hunt! Is was actually quite a hard riddle that's so typical of Elder Scrolls games and made an interesting change from the usual quests :)

The Aldmeri Dominion quests give you chooses when you where doing the quests which FELT like they really meant something (picking between life and death of some NPC) so they were fun.

But the Daggerfall Covenant quests made me think more and therefore I found them more fun. But Aldmeri Dominion was good, but I prefer Daggerfall Covenant

The  Ebonheart Pact quests, they just seemed rushed, no real thought, you did not even have to READ the quests, just run here, kill that.
