Aw I had so many questions too I wanted to ask from a solo crafters point of view, who wants to craft end game.

Personally I thought that was one of the best things I read.  Crafters really are massively important in this game - haven't seen that in forever

I suppose for those of us planning to craft multiple crafts requiring research we'll have to pick the best traits to start with and then flesh out the rest when we start to get more researchable items at one time (though they will take longer of course)

At least one thing I saw in the last beta as research is treated on an individual basis by craft so 1 @ 6hrs in clothing doesn't affect 1@6 hrs in smithing etc. Multiple researching will be a small break.

As an (initial) heavy armor character, I also wanted to level up woodworking for shields. I was glad to see that the multiple hundreds of hours I needed to get all the traits on my armor line wouldn't be slowed by the mere 200 or so I needed to get the shield traits researched.

    *sigh* goodbye life....hello eso....

OK then, we got HUGE ANSWERS there.

CRAFTING is going to be great for solo crafters.   No raids needed, and they will remain on top of the Tier of crafting.

Tempers Resins, ect, are not raid drops and are restricted to only Hirlings, Extractions, and Refinement.  image  Which means, crafters can upgrade anything in the Rank 10 tier to Legendary.

Raiders will get gear that will have Enchantments enbeded in them that are super powerful and is what will make raiding gear stand out.    They can be upgraded to legendary from crafters (which is the "crafters can make the best gear in game and better) comes into play.

CRAFTERS ARE GOING TO BE SPECIAL!!!!!    PAUL SAGES OWN WORDS WOOOOOT!!!!   GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Let me explain this to you.   Legendary items do not drop!!!!

Raid gear will be super powerful enchantments embedded into gear that makes them unique.   Crafters will be able to take those gears and make them Legendary!

This system is the system that's fair to both RAIDERS AND CRAFTERS!

To get ALL the Blacksmith armour and weapon traits researched will take around 8 months I think, provided you maxed out research speed and could use the double-item research ability as soon as possible. Clothing won't be far behind in time required.

You'd also have to set your alarm clock so you could immediately start researching a new trait the moment you finished the previous one. And you'd also have to make sure that you always have an appropriate traited weapon or armour piece to research.

Interesting read, legendary .0001% items not for launch?! Awesome.

Great transcription over all, I assume "re sauce" means resource?

This just gives me goosebumps. Thinking back to SWG or even DaoC, good old Crafter days. Hell yeah, i think that makes me straight go for a 6 month abo :) That alone is worth the money!

HAHA, back to the days of EVE, when you had to set up your research que.   Make sure you save the gear you find for your research.  Use that Cell Phone alarm, wake up in the middle of the night at 3am, and set up the next research!!!

Lol, I take it you're referring to the skill training ? When I started EVE in 2004, there was no 24-hour skill training queue like today. Getting those early levels trained was hell...

Most of the questions being asked were embarrassing.

Far too many sycophants in there too.

These people are lazy inept classless fools.  The dregs of humanity asking the dumbest questions, the answers to which are readily available.   Then the fools asking for new features when the game is weeks from launch.

What was that fat ugly bird on about too ?   You know , the one with all the Unterdweebs jumping to defend with their effeminate,  desperate for any female attention pseudo chivalry ?   Talk about a double bagger !

Then we had  the disabled guy invoking god because he has a question answered and some action taken on a UI request !

Pretty much..and looking forward to it. If you are going to do BS, cloth or wood to the max, getting metallurgy, stitching and carpentry will be critical. Allows 3 researches at the same time and reduces the research time by 20%. Starting at 6 hours for the 1st and doubling each time that makes the last two researched 768 hours and 1530 hours for a total of 2298 hours to research just one item. A 20% savings in time will be huge...considering the 14 or so items per craft line.

I hope I can see it to the end. Hm I wonder if the research continues after an account is inactive. Start the last 3 and stop playing for 30 days. Come back when its all over. lol

I wonder who will be the first person on server with a level 1 legendary item? Yes, they too can be upgraded to legendary status...talk about conspicuous consumption! image

It's not about launch, they aren't going to have legendary drops. This means crafters are required to improve gear to the best quality, even if it is dropped gear.

Can't wait for Release more then ever now after hearing all this crafting news.   Crafting is my favorite past-time right behind PVE adventuring.

No one seems to have asked anything to do with going F2P.

An empty server = no profits for crafters and F2P = a temptation to allow players to pay $$ for improvements you might otherwise have needed crafters for.
