Lets face it, In the day we live in, players enjoy te gmae we all know as WoW, but I wanna hear everyone else's opinion on which is the better game, yours or WoW, put your thought on here, like so;

Curently playing: EQ1, EQ2, GW, WoW, and soon RF Online
Fav. MMO: Everquest
Reason: Well, I look at Ultima online, yea good game, beggining of its own genre, but I mean, if it wasnt for EQ, you wouldnt have WoW, or Lineage 2, or even..well Guild Wars, in my personal opinion is a copy of Diablo, thats another forum topic waiting to happen...anyway, EQ brings roleplaying to high standards, with all its expansions, its A REAL WORLD, you need to eat and drink, its takes hours to get from one place to another, ex. Antonica to Qeynos, you also have the total character customization, like different armor, and weapons, and many, many, other items. So in my belief, most games (especially WoW) copied of that idea, it was first of its kind, dont get me wrong, WoW is an awsome game, but EQ started it all.
~Those are my reasons, so reply in this forum or even message me, but hope you enjoyed my sample arguement, and hope you look forward to more of my opnions~

I allways find it funny with polls or any kind of voting system were WoW is involved.
I mean what do you think the winner will be? WoW has the most players and outnumbers all like 5xfold. Its like a heavywight vs a featherwight.
I voted EQ2. And when the PvP servers come it will have no more weakspot.
scientology
when is there gonna be a pvp server?
beeeyatch
Hmm both different appeals, I like the battlegrounds and character design in WoW.
In EQ, the environments were a lot better, the focus around grouping was a lot stronger and the dungeons were generally the best of all mmorpgs.

I gotta admire you're attempt to into the forums. It's not a bad idea either, but we've over hundreds of these threads.
Instead, you should just look around for threads that interest you, and just replying to them. Get to know people.
Oh. Don't start about Guild Wars being a copy, or not an MMORPG. If you've been on the guild wars board you would why. Just don't.

the thing about wow is that well once u hit 60 there is nothing more to do, u get bored after a week of PvP , WoW not having anything to conquer , a purpose for PvP.why do i do it cause Blizzard says so? no thank you.
did we really need another one of these threads???
seriously, the only thing it does in the end is cause hostility
double post
EQ2? It was said the PvP will go live near the launch of the next expansion.
The next expansion is scheduled to be available at retail and for download on Feb. 21. it will contain the full version of the base EverQuest II game as well (like with Desert of Flames).

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
I hate to break this to you but there was very little roleplaying in EQ compred to UO. UO spawned Lineage, Ragnarok Online, Asheron's Call and numerous other mmorpg's into the market. EQ was the first to have 3D Graphics but it was not alone in creating the industry. Both UO and Lineage 1 as well as Meridian 59 laid the groundwork that EQ built on. EQ didn't do anything UO hadn't already done either, except allow you to swim under water .
Don't get me wrong. EQ was, and is, a great MMO. But it wasn't particularly revolutionary in anything other than it's graphics. Asheron's Call was based upon UO, not EQ. It went into production around the same time EQ was.
Many games copied EQ's graphics and level system because it was proven viable and, more specifically, because it's easier to balance a class/level based system than an open skill system. But EQ didn't prove anything that UO hadn't already proven.
Irth, D&L, RV, AC, Ragnarok and numerous other MMORPG's, all of them took ideas from UO.
And UO felt a whole heck of a lot more like a real world than EQ did.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Well ive read all your replies, and im not really surprised, Im dissapointed ive never took the time to play UO, but this was just my opinion
Thanks for the advice, I gues these forums work differently then others

I would say Old UO was a better game than WoW. In my opinion the community was the best at that time. A lot of depending on your friends, if you valued your life. Not to mention the wide open game play. Guild battles, anti pk vs pk battles, Player owned Houses, Towers, Castles Shops etc......You could open up a vendor outside or inside your house and sell your goods to passing adventures. Im suprised hardly any games allow this anymore. Although all this changed with the AOS patch, now player goods arent worth crap. Anyways old UO for the freedom and sheer amount of stuff possible.
As for WoW it is a great game, I think it deserves to be the #1 game atm. Because it does do things different than most of the pure everquest clones.
In wow there is a nice quest system in place, I only have 2 gripes about WoW. One is where you cant communicate with the enemy. Just because there your enemy doesnt mean you shouldnt be able to understand what they are saying. And I really dont like the point system in battlegrounds.
Other than that, I think its a nice system.
huh? please say that again. in english this time...
wow is a good game from lvl 1-60 unless you like grinding or raiding, not that there's much of a difference.
