I had way more fun while playing WS than I had in ESO, but still it wasn't what I expected. I hope the game gets better at later levels, the marketing is strong in this one ! I feel sad after comparing this poll results to the ESO poll T_T
People just go for a familiar franchise.
It's not "just the franchise" of ESO. I really enjoyed my time in their beta because it aims at oldschool RPG players. It's nowhere near a perfect game or a MMO but for a certain group of people it's a blast. And I'm in that group. I was tricked by both marketing campaigns. Early livestreams of ESO looked like shit.. WS on the other side seemed to be a neat and fun game.. well.. it's not. At least for me.
Exact same way I felt.. I used to even make fun of ESO when I saw videos of it... So far it seems like the joke is on me. That telegraph system... UGH!!!
Combine that with the fact that you can only have 1 weapon type per class, I hated hear that... And then the limited action buttons, no just no.
And then you have the differences of the UI's or even the way quest are read/introduced to you on screen.. Wildstar, I just don't get what they are trying to do over there..I I feel like I have opened up a one of those popups on the internet at times with how much stuff is all over the screen...ESO's is nice and simple, makes you pay more attention to the game then the UI... That is a good thing!
All and all I had high hopes for Wildstar, but looks like I was wrong on this one. I think a lot of people will be turned away by that UI almost immediately...

The game grew a bit more on me, but i just can't find a class that is fun and gets me hooked. Usually i frown upon any game coming up with nothing but the standard fantasy classes aka mage, hunter, necro etc. and i'm all in for a change. But unfortunately Wildstar isn't executing it's classes too well in my opinion and then there are only 6 of them.
Warrior was the most fun to me and i never play warriors. I miss a real caster and ranged combat, but mobility is mandatory and thanks to cones, everything is closed combat.
And i'm getting a bit tired about just everything in the game has this flimsy touch to it that comes with the cartoon-style. Tiny fonts, tiny icons, skinny body parts etc...
Exactly how I feel...
My friend thinks it's a "skill" thing and I am just not good enough to play Wildstar, but my "skill" lies in other areas than making sure visual cones line up as I spam number keys... Not into Wildstar at all right now..

We can safely say that Wildstar is not for you.
Wildstar is here to remove all the AFK DPS/healing classes from the genre, and it's doing a very good job at it. With all due respect, you have two options - either embrace it and love it, or look elsewhere. Wildstar is a unique pearl that needs to remain as it is.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
I'm finding it really hard to log in. The classes look fun and the game over all looks fun and sounds fun, but the combat right now ( Warrior) is mostly pushing the same 2 buttons over and over and over and over. Yes you have stuns and kicks and other stuff but after awhile you end up not using those that much.. I'm lvl 21 ... It could just be my class, but doing the starter area over again is painful. But, it is beta
I had limited time this weekend to try it out. Some I liked, some not so much.
I played a Spellslinger. I like to play classes that I will not be playing at launch so I don't repeat the same. I'm not too crazy about the ranged combat. It's like trying to shine a flashlight and focus beams on the ground as fast as you can.
Quest seem to have too much thinking, reading and figuring out what to click on to reach your goal when your in hectic situations. This could be good or bad, I'm not sure yet ! Maybe its me because of a lack of sleep and too much gym and I was in an over all bad mood, so I'll have to take that into account.
I only got to level 6 because the tutorial was so long. And my goal was to see how this game is for community. Because of my lack of time playing I've never good to find out.
So been thinking over this weekend that just passed. No particular reason why.
Although not sure how long WildStar will last in the long run. I will likely be purchasing this game and playing it at launch.
Neither, tried the beta, while WOW is a game aimed at 12-16y old kids, WS felt like it is aiming for even younger players, so won't be playing either of them.

Right, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with it being more fun for some of us than Wildstar.
Not sure yet, will have to see closer to launch. Normally this kind of art style doesn't bother me much, but even so it seemed a bit extreme on the cartoony side, particularly the goofy character models.
I'm on the fence with ESO as well, but so far it's seemed pretty shitty, mostly due to the terrible combat/animations. Although it's made an amazing turn-around from scathing criticism to full steam ahead on the hype train in a matter of weeks.

Yes, you are right.. Mr. Amazing, I submit to your greatness. For because I would rather not it must mean that I am truly inferior to ones MMO superiority..
Bah Tomato, Tomato.. AFK dps? lol... Praise the game all you'd like, but don't sit here and pretend that you have to be some kind of "Elite" player to play it.. I could play it and even train in it and get to the point where I am kicking all kinds of ass, but if I am not enjoying it, whats the point? To prove that I can do it? Nah.. Screw all that noise..
But I will give you credit, you ALMOST baited me.. I was nearly about to roll up my sleeves and say "I bet I can do what he thinks I can't".. Like Pfft.. What was I thinking?
I don't think that some people realise that friendly fire (blue) telegraphs are completely unnecessary and you can turn them off.
You don't actually see that many red enemy telegraphs, its just a few big moves to dodge just like in most other MMOs like TSW, WoW, ESO and SWTOR.
Seriously once you've seen how far your skills go and how wide they arc once or twice, you don't need to see it anymore, and the game looks far better with them disabled. Such a shame that they keep promoting the game with them turned on, it ruins the amazing animations and spell effects.

Seriously.. did you play WS even once? Even with knowing how large your telegraphs are, it's no viable option turning them off at any time. I've read a lot of fanboyism of you on these forums.. but this is the dumbest statement so far. The telegraphs are a core aspect of the combat system. Turning them off is maybe a good idea for the tutorial zone (i.e. Arkship).. but after that.. no way. Wake up dude.. you're obviously dreaming.
Suffice to say after playing this weekend, the game is not for me at all. Will not go into details with the NDA still up and running. Looks to be good at doing what people who like it want out of it, it just is not the game for me.
Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV Have played: You name it If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.

Wildstar telegraphs are highly customizable. They are really distracting and immersion breaking if left on default in my opinion. You can tone down its transparency and outlining to it becomes barely noticeable, just enough so you know that you shouldn't stand there.
Turning them off its a really bad idea. At least enemy telegraphs. Your own telegraphs I m sure that if you eventually play it a lot you ll just turn them off as you already know your character well, or not.
Either way I'm just glad a really good MMO is coming our way finally. A game that knows its a game and not affraid to show it. Games should be fun and this one its lots of fun.

I know that. But even with less bright telegraphs it's a game of staring at the floor the complete time. For some this is much fun. For me it's annoying after some levels. Quite monotonous. I can't enjoy the environment and the beautiful animations.. I have to dodge, roll and run the whole time. Meh.
I somewhat enjoyed WildStar but don't believe it'll keep me entertained for very long. I'm not sure if it was an older beta build, but I experienced a number of performance problems and bugs that need resolving, I also found the UI very intrusive that I wasn't able to alter myself.
I MAY pick up a copy after launch, but I won't be around on Day 1.

eh what? ofc it' s viable when you know the shape and reach there's no need for those blue telegraphs anymore.. all you need to see is the red ones.
haha you can tell the ones thet never played Wildstar. Some..SOME graphics (distance) you can say ..that looks kind of like wow yet for the most part its nothing like wow. Never found my self saying..gee this is like wow.

Op you might have got the free to play crowd.
The game looks like WoW. There is no discussion on whether or not that is true in my opinion. Personally I like the art direction, it's the gameplay itself I didn't care for.

It most certainly is a viable option. You would have to have a serious learning disability to be unable to distinguish where your own moves were going.

I kinda had fun this weekend in the beta but still on the fence about it... If I had to choose between ESO and wildstar atm I'd choose ESO.
wildstars major selling point(Large hardcore raids) isn't attractive at all to me.
Didn't get a chance to try the pvp yet though. Maybe I'll get a chance with open beta.
*Azure's*
*If it's called common sense, why is it so rare?*
I'm still on the fence.

I have said in a previous thread I would rather bite down on a spinning drill bit then to subject myself to Wildstar again.
I think I enjoyed my first hour playing BC3000 more than WS.
