I heard Kraft is making a Mac version. Oh wait, that would be the Mac & Cheese version! LOL!!
Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I have not heard of them making a Mac version, but you can never tell. Have you inquired with SOE or LA? If they have enough people ask, they might.
They just put the PC version back to Alpha test stage, it'll be dead long before they have time to port it over. Besides, any game company that can count (and we know SOE is ALL about the $) would do a linux port before a Mac port. Why not just partition and make it a dual-boot machine so that you can actually buy some software?

Maybe I misread what you meant, but you can't dual boot a Mac with Windows
I know you used to be able to dual boot, knew a few people that did. That may have changed with the Imac and their newer OS, don't know. Wouldn't expect them to further cripple an already (software) limited system but I doubt too that they ever publicized/encouraged the practice so offical channels would NOT be the place to find out. I also don't know how easy it was to set up, the guys I knew that did it weren't exactly typical 'users'.
If they had been, it would have been an emulated version of Windows, since both platforms use different hardware standards. From now though, Macs will be using Intel processors, so it may soon be possible to dual boot Windows and OS X or whatever the future Mac OS's will be

Do not talk if you have not personally tried BOTH types of computers. BTW macs, Apples, IBooks, all blow away PCs, and other laptops/notebooks. Completly destroying everyone else when it comes to performance. This is why fortune 100 companies, cloose to rely on Macs, Apples, and iBooks, for buisness... even requiring workers to buy a MAC, and/or iBook to continue keeping their job. There are tons of ads on CraigsList.com of people begging for a MAC or iBook because ther new fortune 100 job requires them to have one. Now why would major multi-million, multi-billion, dollar companies choose MAC and iBooks over PCs?
My MAC and iBook G4 has never, never, crashed. I have stressed tested it like crazy before buying it, and after buying it. Playing a DVD, while watching a music video, while playing a game, while programming with AppleWorks, while downloading music videos and songs, while opening loads of other software - having soooo much stressful multi-tasking going on at the same time! No lag, no freezing, no crashing - ever!
One time I accidently opened 110 windows at the same time! The Apple computer never blinked.
The only thing lacking on Apple computers is that for some strange reason, not many games are made on them. Kind of like how MicroCrap has strong armed Lineux into staying small, even though Linux destroys MicroCrap in performance.

Heh, this has gone WAY off the topic of SWG.
But, I would kinda expect Apple's to be somewhat more reliable then your typical PC. Apples only have a few different hardware combinations that they need to cater for, unlike Windows which needs to cater for millions, if not billions of different hardware combinations. Combined with the many different peices of software available, there is bound to be conflicts when you're dealing with that.
Having said that, my PC is pretty much rock solid, I can't even remember when it last crashed. I can quite comfortably run 2 instance of SWG at once with no lag nor let down on my FPS. I can also play SWG and have it record a TV program with no let down in performance or crashing.
They said recently there were NO plans. You'll have it on the PS3 before then.
Trust me. You don't want it.

You do bring up an intresting point here. And I sort of, kind of, reluctantly agree heheh. There are far less hardware combinations, due to the fact Apple has such a small share of hte market. But even so, Apple has enough of a presence that it is not in danger of going out of buisness.
unlike Windows which needs to cater for millions, if not billions of different hardware combinations. Combined with the many different peices of software available, there is bound to be conflicts when you're dealing with that.
Ready for the nuke that rips apart this one point? L I N U X. It also never, ever, never, crashes. It works with every single hardware combination that Windows is supposivly designed for. Many hardcore computer programmers, and buildsers, will on purpose either take out windows, or request that windows not be included in their computers, then have Linux installed. Computer scientists in America, and Japan, have all run the most insane stress tests, and Linux has passed flawlessly every single time on the same PCs that they test Windows on - which crashes 50% - 75% of the time during their stress tests. There is even computer jargon for it ..... "The Blue Screen of Death". Whenever new jargon is created for something, it means the subject happens sooo much, that the populace feels a need to create a linqual shortcut to describe it.

Now try opening 5 seperate windows, with SWG in 1 window, a DVD movie from the DVD player playing in 1 window, a (saved) music video playing in 1 window, your email in 1 window, a saved stand alone game in 1 window, and a programming application in 1 window (Dreamweaver for example. PrintMaster 16 for example. QuickBooks for example.). Now you start to get the picture of the insane superness of the Apple over the PC. And why fortune 100 companies which run HUGE, INTENSE, programming applications (which easily blow away Dreamweaver, QuickBooks, etc...) choose Apple over PC.
But hey, if your current computer does indeed meet your personal needs, then more power to you. You are set. But this thread is not about if a PC can meet someone's needs successfully. It is about PC vs Apple. when comparing it to what an Apple can do, it is a different story.

Yep, sure Linux is certainly a viable option and I have no problems against it However, not all hardware will work with Linux and it can take many hours of fiddling with config files to actually make something work. Heh, Linux doesn't have to work with some of the crap hardware Windows does, as it simply doesn't support it. Theres also the problem that I found and really hated when you go to install something and it requires something else, which requires something else, etc. That can go on for ages before you finnally get the last peice.

True, my PC probably couldn't handle that, but it's not top of the line either. If it had a dual core CPU, the story might be different, although I'm not totally familliar with how dual-core technology works so it's a stab in the dark lol

well I guess I could run it off Virtual PC
No, and this is why: http://www.flurl.com/uploaded/Why_Macs_Suck_15109.html
well at least this is a mac-friendly environment
BTW: That was Classic
