I remember this game was being hyped to no end, but then it just dissipated out of nowhere. What was the reason for the hype in the first place? I just saw a video of gameplay, and not to bash the game, but it made me sick to my stomach. Those exclamation marks, those quest dialogues nobody reads (not even the person playing in this video meant to hype it), those huge name tags and tab targetting mechanics.

I am a fan of Trion's RIFT, but I feel they really screwed themselves over with this one, they missed the hype and all that is left is a shell. Archeage to me seems like a bunch of good ideas trapped in old, outdated, washed out mechanics. I mean, can we all admit for once that nobody (or hardly anyone) ever reads quest dialogues anymore? Why not think of new ways in which to implement this mechanic?

People shouldn't even call them MMORPGs anymore if so many people skip over quest text.
The truth is the game is an amazing PvP Game and you must join a pretty Large Guild and team up to do a lot in the end. The downside is Trion ended up shooting themselves in the foot by not releasing this game sooner. More and more people are getting tired of waiting..
That and I don't know how many the Nice English people will leave the Rus Servers. Now that we can buy gems/subs and such and the really nice community. I don't see a reason join Trions Open beta that is going end up having a lot of younger people ruining the game. I hate to be that guy but I find that most US F2P games get flooded with a lot of kids.
Rift though I have to say was one of them games that was not too bad... But got really bad over the years in Global chat. Even worse then the barrens chat if you could even imagine that.
I really hope this games goes well down the road but at the same time Trion is not building this game themselves. Their running it translating it and added their own Item Mall into the game. They might be able fix some quests maybe do some kind of special events. But overall I don't see nor can I see them doing some major changes to impact it or adapt it to what we want or would like to see.

Well op where to start ....
First of all yellow markers are in EVERY game, well except for FFXI,so why act like this is something new?Quest dialogue, again nothing new here to bash on other games doing the same including Rift.
AA was hyped because it offers the same things as other games PLUS MORE.The building of ships and sea battles alone adds a whole other dimension to game play.Gliding off high mountains, again NEW,most games won't allow it by putting an invisible wall on that cliff side or you will simply die if you jump.
There is water creatures to fight as well. There is housing, still lots of games don't have housing. There are a lot of other features as well i am just not in the think of this game right now ,have not been following it for some time.
I will add the REAL truth behind the delay on this game and how you cannot trust Trion to give you any truthful information.
The English translation was severely delayed because the team working on it is no longer working on it for whatever reason, fired or they quit i don't know. You would think Trion would have told us that information but instead told us NOTHING for several months.I believe they even to spin it saying some thing like "they wanted to make sure it was done right" .
Archeage is still your basic quest hub game with added pvp but it does offer more so it gives gamer's something to think about when deciding on a game to play.Since every game is doing game play exactly the same, there is little choice other than graphics or does a game offer a little more and AA does that.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Dont think it's Trion's call, they're just the western publisher, XLGames is developing the game, and from my understanding its changed quite a bit since Trion first picked it up.
