Throwing to much at it, might also be not to smart... See what happened to Warhammer online.

the only thing i can see them do to PvP is adding huge NPC invasions from time to time...  Situational things to add diversity, but not change anything to the core of the game if it proofs to work

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

An MMO does need a good amount of both PvE and PvP to keep me interested, but judging how good the devs have been with feedback, I think they'll do a pretty good job of getting on the ball if too many players complain about lack of endgame content.

Actually, WAR failed because of the WAY they implemented it, not the amount of effort.  WAR basically became this complicated, instanced nightmare.  If they would have just stuck with the fundamentals of what makes an MMO (a cohesive world without the crazy instances), they would have succeeded as a niche PvP centered game.  If I recall, Mark Jacobs was pretty much sidelined on that project and some joker kiss-up producer pushed all the instanced nonsense.

I believe investing in the continual improvement and expansion of an OPEN WORLD pvp will net great dividends.  And NO, improvement doesn't equal more npcs when it comes to pvp.  I'm talking about things like better player communication tools,  map improvements with scouting, army rank hierarchy, possible housing or guild infrastructures in keeps, etc.

expansions will be added for end game most likely.

It's this kind of thinking that gets games like GW2 out the developmental stage and into the hands of millions of soon-to-be very disappointed gamers. To tell someone to stop thinking ahead is some of the worst advice you can give.

Sadly the dead, trash Guild Wars 2 is the leading themepark in the industry atm and ESO is at seems from the beta is not even close to surpass it.

    I can buy that.

Personally, I'd like to see the housing tie in with some expanded crafting types, add to the an existing line, or create a whole new profession for people to craft items for houses along with "trophies" from quests and the like. I know some folks will ignore it, but it'll give other people a chance to do non-combat related activities, and still be active in the game world, gathering as part of their other activities.

I've never been a big mini-game type person, and I'll never see a recreation of SWG crafting, but I know there were a lot of people who were more tied to games like SWG, UO, and EQ2, because of the depth of the "house" game. It made them more invested in the game world, and the game, and that's a good thing, even if it isn't for everyone.

First of all can we stop bashing GW2. Alot of people enjoy that game and it was not a failure. I played it for around 300 hours and had alot of fun, shallow PVP made me stop though. It's the best B2P game to ever be released (MMO genre) and the devs are great (except the pvp part).

As for ESO, I think if they open up the Imperial City and make it a massive version of DAOC's Darkness falls you will have alot of content right there. They spoke about a DF style dungeon in the PVP interview.

But can we please let the WOW formula just die out? Play 200hours- wait for expansion - get the new gear and kill the new bosses - wait for more expansions. Where is the fun in that? We need something knew and I don't know if I would ever pick up another MMO if it weren't for PVP. I think sandbox elements needs to be implemented, houseing, boats, guild created keeps etc etc.

Don't know what you expected Bachus. It's a themepark mmo like all the others.

Besides the RVR like you meantioned, you have the standart fare. Small group dungeons, raid size dungeons, alts (or just do the content in the form of +/++), pets, etc. (Achivements, maybe? Didn't see them.)

That's not a bad thing or a good thing. It's just the usual stuff. If you're not into PVP, you probably won't find anything new when it comes to keeping you interested. Maybe adventure zones are really, realy cool, but, like i said in another thread, in need to see them in action. I hope they're good.

    -PvP in cyrodill

    -Adventure zones

    thats it?

    - I hope not, i personally hope they will also keep adding new story based solo oriented zones like we played from level 1 to veteran level 10

    - and a max level version of the world, so the lower level content that got skipped will still be challenging for people that are completionists or go on a shardhunt.

    - and maybe an adventure zone with PvP enabled

Next to that i am hoping for an ever raising veteran level, with new gear, new skillpoints, new skills and new skilltrees,

With the recently released info on adventure zones, i could not stop thinking, there must be more...

Nope just as you said it that's it,they only have 5 man instances and ava with no incentives yet people who aren't in even beta wanna act like the game overs heaven and more at end-game Lol, just shows you how tight people will cling on to things i suppose(this is all by and after a couple months after launch of course having so little to do at end-game is just horrible)

Tbh i highly doubt eso will ever see the the great light that is OWpvp they know players would just wonder killing lowbies because they wanna feel like kings and that would take away from the (horrid) gaint bg in the center of the map, i esp. cant see them doing it with the mega-server unless they go back on their word and makes servers and add a pvp one but wouldn't surprise me considering for a company they go back on their word alot like with the no races in other fractions, i suppose it just shows their  indecisiveness really.

I would like to see more skills by way of more npc factions. Horizontal progression.

And while I doubt it will ever happen, I would love to see them create epic quest lines that would allow you to unlock and level the other classes. They could still limit characters by not allowing skills from other classes to be cross slotted at the same time. That way each class would stay unique but it would allow a character to level up to 50, 3 more times.

Finally, I would love to see an epic quest line that would allow you to betray your faction and move over to one of the others. Not just adventure in their area but completely change faction like in EQ2. But the quest should be EPIC. The kind of thing that takes weeks to complete.

    All die, so die well.

The end game will have complete vertical progression with more tiers being added as the game gets "expanded" because that's the trend the game has gone on since the game entered beta. But I'm going to play the game anyways.
