This a good game for an SWG exile?

ShaydeShayde Member Posts: 4,529

I was told this was Sci-fi based.. and it had a lot of freedom and good players.

Sure, I could check THEIR site and get the sell.. but I want to know from the players, especially ex SWG players... Is this a good game to go to?

Compare.. contrast.. discuss..

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled :( - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

I know of many former SWG players who have found a home in Ryzom. Try the 7 day trial, you may well like it :)

Personally, I have not played The Saga of Ryzom, but I've heard it's a good game, just not hyped enough. I would check the reviews under the game list, or try searching pc game magazine websites for reviews. Good Luck =D

I came from SWG, I had a CL 80 BH RM and force sensitive... the only reason why I stopped playing SWG is because my friends quit playing it. I went to Ryzom soon there after. The community in Ryzom is the best I have ever expeienced. The game is real fun too. The skill level system is one of the best things in the game I believe. If you get bored playing as melee then go as magic without having to sacrifice skill points like in SWG. I think you should try it.

I came for SWG ( Full temp Jedi, Master Chef and MBH,CM).   This game has been fun for me.  The skills tree is great.  No combat penalty of you want to craft.  All skill trees are separate.  The community is the best I have ever seen.  And with 5 yrs Eq, 1.5 yrs COH and 1 yr SWG, in have been around abit.  I would say give this game a try, it does have a 7 day trial =).

This isn't just great for an SWG exile, it's just a great MMO in general.

SoR is the MMO for vets that have played them all and are looking for something a bit different to play. Great people, great skill system, good stuff.

I tried the free trial with low expectations, but after playing for 4 days I decided to buy the game outright...and have been having a good time ever since.

    Thanks SoR image

i just started the trial and i think i'll go for this one.  my only concern is rumors that the game is dead but it's not at all, and i havae heard that numbers contunue to grow.  the problem is hype, not enough but that's where word of mouth comes in and it's getting around.  i am swg exile and am looking at this game and eve to make my own :)  reminds me of a pre-cu im many ways.  well, good luck and if you like it mention it to others :)

What do you like in a game?  If you like a mature, friendly community this is your place to be.  Because the english server is american and european, there are two peak times.  This is good so if you are an early bird you could get in a group with a european group and still do fine.  Customer service is very friendly, there are GMs there you could talk to live to help you out at any time of the day.  This game is more of a sci-fi/fantasy type games, the "monsters" are actually alien like animals that you could kill all day.

It might be worth check this game out for seven days, you just have to be really patience.  Nevrax doesnt have a large budget like SOE does, additional content is very slow.  Example the mount they put in the game, was finally added about six months after launch.

Really the only thing I could think of that sucks in this game.  Is if you were ever in a fight with an animal its impossible to run away from it unless you got a sprint ability so you could run to the nearest town.  So pick your fights wisely.

Have played: CoH, DDO EQ2, FFXI, L2, HZ, SoR, and WW2 online

Not true. They changed this over 6 months ago now. Sure some monsters will be faster than you if you dont use speed boost, however, some you can also outrun without it. Also after a certain distance any mob will stop following you. I end up running away from mobs all the time when I bite off more than I can chew, and a good percentage of the time I escape :P
