General: City of Titans: New Concept Art Unveiled

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The City of Titans team has sent word that the official site has been updated with a bevy of great concept art for the forthcoming title, the "spiritual successor" to the now-defunct City of Heroes. The artwork shows off character models and various costumes of the heroes that will inhabit the world.

We’re a little less wordy this week, a bit more show than tell.

As you’d expect, the majority of our focus in the Art department is building assets for the Avatar Builder. While that isn’t entirely costume concepts, that’s what we’re focusing on this week.

These costume concepts come in from two main sources right now. Game Lore and random inspiration. Below you’ll see an early Villain. You’ll see more of him in the coming updates.

Check out all of the fantastic artwork on the City of Titans site.

I keep having to tell myself not to get too hyped for a game so early in it's development. But c'mon we're looking at the true spiritual successor the best costumed crusader game ever. How am I NOT supposed to psyched everytime they put out a teensy weensy bit of info?

I couldn't agree more Dr_Shivinski. I miss City of Heroes more than I could ever put into words and even the thought that this will one day *crossing fingers* become a live game gives me chills. I'll take any news they want to throw at us.  =)

I'm with the first two. Losing CoH was a big metaphorical blow to me. I haven't been able to get into any MMO as much as that game (but that could be about MMOs and not me). Ideally I'd like the CoH servers to come back online and we can pick up where we left off. But CoT is a close second. I hope they take the lessons learned from other games and apply it here. The biggest let down would be if the game is unplayable.

Good news for sure. I'll definitely check it out when it goes live.

And I can sympathize with the other posters, NCSoft's treatment of Paragon Studios is the reason I won't be touching any of their games with a ten-foot pole, and why I've been staying far away from Wildstar - fortunately it's pretty easy to do with that game as I really don't like the look of it - same reason I could never get into Champions Online, even when CoH was taken down.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Wonder how many people hating on NCsoft/Wildstar/Carbine, realize Jeremy Gaffney worked on City of Heroes.

About 99% of people hating don't bother doing the research. Why let something like facts get in the way of their irrational behaviour, right?
