Retainer ventures is a straight lift from swtor's crew skill mission. Ill definitely be using it. Especially when all you need are a couple horns and theres only stacks of 99 on the market. Maybe that will help curb that nonsense. Mostly looking forward to glamors, gardening, big fishing, a retainer for my fc house, and the master crafting recipes. That's actually quite a bit haha. Enough content to keep me entertained well through even the next patch and all without having to do any combat. Its like they are making this game for old swg vets who wanted to be uncle Owen. I'm stoked!

Great content being pumped out almost faster than I can keep up. Granted I'm not nearly as much of a hardcore player as I once was but I also believe that that niche has shrunk quite a bit in the past five years or so.
Good on Yoshi P. for delivering with this second iteration of a once doomed MMO.

Wonderful looking and tons of added content but they still do a couple things i don't agree with.
Boss fights are instanced small circle areas,i prefer open ended gaming,it should always be about the MMO feel not 4 man or more co-op instancing.
Still need water zones and housing is not housing if nobody has it.Less than 1% have housing and of that most are guild homes so really no more than a guild hall/Brothel not really housing.
If they could address these few areas,i would say simply amazing,easily best game out there,but for now FFXI still does more for open ended game play and depth.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Nah been done before that ,example EQ2 has it as guild hall npc's can go out and farm items.Also your pack pony could do it as well.
I love NPC interaction and anything that brings NPC's to life but not automated functions such as this but not bad enough that i would complain harshly as i will most certainly use it lol :P.

I wonder if your retainer is out on a venture, you cannot sell items at the same time from it. Ill probably send them out while I'm farming so that they come back when I'm crafting and then I can restock them heh.

There are quite a few open-world bosses not to mention raid bosses at the end of runs. You also have Crystal tower now which is large scale 24 player content.
As far as housing goes; there is none short of FC housing, which is pretty full on my server (Hyperion). You can pick up a plot for a little over 2mil now which is crazy cheap compared to what it was when first released. I don't think player housing will be coming for a few months still.
I get where you are coming from though, I too have been a hardcore FFXI fan for a long time and only recently deactivated (forgot to pick up my Naja cifer before my character deactivated .) There is a huge disparity between the amount of stuff simply because XI is 11+ years old. I was originally going to wait for a year after 14 release to start playing just so there would be enough content for me.
Now, 6 mos after release, my LS all but broke, all my friends play FFXIV now and looking down the road at the content coming for XI I just could not justify waiting any longer. I'm so glad I did not either. I am so far behind atm I feel a bit overwhelmed. All my buddies are well into Coil and I am just hitting level 50 with my first job. Kinda sucks watching them do cool shit but that's the way it is I suppose!!
