I created a dark elf dragon knight to test something. In the starter area where the weapons are, there were only one hand swords available to take instead of all weapon types. The room with the weapons even was looking different. The dark elf nightshade created in the beta before was able to choose from all weapons.

Its reasonably easy to craft your ideal weapon from iron ore or find one from a chest or monster. I had no intention of using the 1 handed sword, or the inferno staff, or the 2 handed greatsword I ended up using in the meantime but it didnt hurt me. It was kinda fun to experiment with different weapons.
Its satisfying in a way when not everything is handed to you on a plate. On release I'll be farming wolves and mudcrabs to make a full basic set of medium armour, and then grabbing some ore to make a few daggers.
Also I noticed the unarmed combat has some satisfying punching sounds and weight this time around
Oh. And how to get on additional stuff if the chest are spawning now much less time as than in the beta before?
I'm wondering, as an example how a sorcerer will get his staff if there is dropping none till the tutorial area is over?

I responded to the other 2 threads as to why this happened (but it seems no one read either). Short answer: Those starter weapons had a very nasty bug attached to them.
I found the weapons I wanted before I left Cold Harbour ....just look around instead of crying about something not being there , I know looking for something is harder than having it sitting on a table but if it's really an issue perhaps folks are just to lazy to play mmo's
What say they have not done that... After all there is no guarantee that the build that was in this beta is the finall build (or in non-nerd speak. there might be things fixed that did not make it in before this weekend but will be fixed by the time the game releases)

they have made it like every other eso game. You always start as a prisoner and you always start with a 1h sword.
In the prison they give you a 2h and a bow as well so they give you the options very early and you start with enough gold to buy a base wepon once you exit the prison for whatever type you want its not a big deal at all.
I prefered the hey grab what you want now but the 1h sword only is more ESO like and its not a big deal your maybe 20 mins from whatever wep you wanted reagrdless.
When we can pick up any weapon at top level, choice of enchantment, in those first weapon racks we will all be happy.
The change does seem a bit odd, but if it was done on purpose it may be to push players early into the idea that exploration is good.
lol wow bad dog a little TEXT really gets to you. Not sure how you got crying out of what seems like just a wondering or question. Hmm ..hide and watch.
At the very worst they will have to wait the ten minutes till the tutorial is over and then venture out and rectify the situation.
I approve of the reduction in spoonfeed/hand-holding.
