Huh? One distributor of video cards goes out of business, and that is a sign that PC gaming is doomed? Doesn't it make more sense to say that is a sign that other companies selling Nvidia cards are doing a better job of it than that particular company?
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Wow. In all the cards I've ever bought when building for myself or someone else, this is the first I've ever heard of them. I guess I haven't been and won't be missing much.
nha I am a pc gamer!this being said,my pc is getting old (i52500k with 7950)and I know what sleep in ms software stable I think it is potentially a lot better hardware wise then my pc ,this being said from what I saw dev outputting on next gen console (ps4 and xbox one)I stayed on pc! and I felt this was a relevant question ,if you read the article you ll see that galaxy was the main company selling to other here ! it isn't a troll random post .loosing such a big distributor of gpu for America is a blow ,already gpu where rising in price now with this bad news NVidia card are likely to go higher in price even!

Galaxy was a small manufacturer. You can't be serious if you think they are the main company selling GPUs. ASUS, EVGA and Gigabyte are far bigger and rolling in cash right now.

They were tiny...I mean TINY in the GPU market.
Also, if you ACTUALLY read the article they put themselves out of business. It had NOTHING to do with sells.
Anyone who bought one of their GPUs either didn't know any better or got it for practically free.

Galaxy is a sub-brand of Palit, Gainward is also a sub-brand of Palit.
Gainward is their main sub brand for Europe and Galaxy(Palit bought Galaxy way back) was for USA, and Palit did use to operate in the US but for some reason they left, so this is the second pull-out from the same company in less than 5 years.
It's the same how Sapphire and Zotac are basically run by the same company called Pcpartner, which is downright sneaky, because zotac is exclusive Nvidia, and Sapphire is now exclusive AMD, remember sapphire used to do both brands but then they switched to only AMD and made a fuss about it, which is retarded, because their parent company is the same, ...
Wow... Galaxy was still in business? Sorry but they were a substandard GPU distributor at best. They won't even be missed by 99% of PC gamers. Heck, probably 90% of PC gamers don't even know who they were or care.
I didn't even realize Galaxy was still around anymore. They fell off my mind a ways back... kinda like Packard Bell.
Honestly, I'm playing Titanfall at 45+ FPS during heavy fighting on high. And it looks WAY better than the X1 version. So these PCs must be ready to keel over.
If Nvidia or ATI/AMD closed down their PC cards it would be a huge problem, but Galaxy?
Hech, I have never even considered buying one of their cards and there are loads of other manufacturers around. It is not good since lesser competition tends to increase prices but it is hardly a huge problem for PC gamers.
Good manufacturers have gone down before, I was a lot sadder when A-BIT stopped then for this.
PC gaming might go down but I see little change in the next 5 years unless Valves new box make a great impact and even then I think it will hurt PS4 and Xbox one worse than PCs.
Consoles do have their good sides but I for one don't see myself changing to them any day soon.

No big loss , ad lots of other companies with more recognizable names. are still NVIDIA cards.
Not a huge blow, a very minor blip at most.

Can we let this thread die now please?
We would still have AMD. Intel is gonna crap bricks when AMD's next APU comes out. Rumors are Excavator will have much higher performance than Kaveri.

And Nokia selling off their mobile phone production is a proof that mobile phone market is dying?
