Arrow making and area changing?

HukauHukau Member Posts: 35

Hi guys,

I want to start crafting the cheapest arrow (may be bone arrows) but I don't know where to get the material near Bastok. I'm currently level 10, and just bought a bow for 2000 gil. Samusic do you know where I can get the material for making arrows?

I have no crafting skill at all at the moment.

And how do I get out of the area and go to Windurst or San Doria ?

Thanks

Unfortunately in order to become proficient at crafting arrows you need to join the woodworkers' guild in San d'Oria. Also, you can get the wood there (or chop it yourself in Ghelbasa). However, I don't think stone arrows really require a very high level at all. You may even be able to do it at level 0, although not as successfully.

    Stone arrows

Take two flint stones and synth them with a wind crystal. This makes you 6 handfuls of stone arrowheads. It's best to do this twice in order to get a full stack of twelve.

Then take two chocobo feathers and synth them with a wind crystal. You'll get 6 chocobo fletchings. Best to do this twice to get a full stack, just like the arrowheads

Then you need a stack of arrowwood lumber. It's very cheap and you can buy it at the woodworkers' guild or chop it in Ghelbasa. If you chop it you'll get an arrowwood log. Synth that with a wind crystal and you'll get a piece of arrowwood lumber.

One handful of stone arrowheads+one piece of arrowwood lumber+1 chocobo fletching=33 stone arrows.

With this formula you should end up getting 198 total. It's very easy to make thousands of them this way.

It's the same thing with bone arrows except with different materials. The wood is the same, but you need to combine two bone chips to get bone arrowheads and two Yagudo feathers to get Yagudo fletchings. The fletchings do take a clothwork skill of about 9 or so, but they are so cheap and easy to make if you find a clothworker they'll be glad to take your materials and make them for you.

Can a warrior become mediocre or better in all areas of crafting?  Such as, Tailoring, Forge, fletching and all of the others out there?

I honestly don't know how to make wooden arrows because I never did. They are exactly the same as stone arrows, just different materials. Anybody can become join up to five guilds, regardless of their job.

To get to San d'Oria from Bastok:

North Gustaberg -> Konschat Highlands -> Valkurm (you can stop in Selbina here, if you like) -> La Theine -> West Ronfaure -> San d'Oria

With craft items and material or the like, there are 2 items but one price. Samusic do you know why?

For example: Quadav Backplate, the white one, up ahead is just 400 for one, but the pink one, just below it, still Quadav Backplate, but cost like 3000 or something. Why is this different? How to make a such a difference?

Beside, which server are you currently playing in? I'm playing as a thief and planning to be ranger as well.

    Thanks.

You're going to have to give me another example, because I never really dealed with the Quadav at all. I haven't gotten the game yet due to money issues, but I'm going to be on Midgar.

About ranged weapon: how do you use range weapon? I mean when I have the bow equiped and arrows, I still couldn't see the range attack option.

So I tried using macro, I typed /range <t>. It works, but after I give the monster the first shot, my char immediately put the bow away. If I want him to keep using the bow and firing what should I do?

There's a ranged attack option in the menu, but I can't remember where since I always just used my macro. Macro /shoot <t>. You have to manually shoot.

You can't join all the guilds?

You can join up to five.
