Buy Desert of Flames?

I just purchased EQ2 and was waiting to buy any of the expansions as I figured I was too low level to even think about them for now. Am I missing any content though by not purchasing them?

ie. Could I practice pvp in the FP/Qeynos arenas if I owned it? Graphics/UI upgrades? etc.

Even if I do level up with the new expansion coming should I buy both or just the new one? Basically I am wondering if I am missing out on anything especially useful in DoF?

Don't need DOF till lvl 50 tbh :P You wont need KOD (out in feb) till lvl 60.

Also there are pvp arenas in the main cities, noone uses any arena tho as tthey are not interest in PVP.

There are open PVP servers coming out (like WOW) but i dont know how well that'll go down.

Its only 29.99 for Dof and original game plus a free month, so just buy DoF because it comes with the original game

Or wait till march and get the Trilogy

February 21 you mean? And it won't be a trilogy, DoF is not included in that version. Only base EQ2 + KoS expansion.

If you have level 45+ character then yes, buy DoF. Otherwise it will be only a pretty place for you to see and very dangerous indeed. DoF is very nice looking expansion and overall has nice contests and quests. Lots of stuff to solo and enough for groups and big raids as well. Monsters though don't scale to your level. Most of the quests require to kill mobs. And even if not you will run into roaming mobs which desert (Sinking Sands) is full off.

When should we look to purchase the adventure packs, if at all? (ie. what level)

they are like 5 dollars a piece so i just bought them

Bloodline: is on the evil side good to buy around 30 ish raids are good untill around 60 i think

Splitpaw: on the good side, Starts at level 20 and is good untill 50 im not sure about raids.

Dude fact of the matter is why do they charge us 5$ for 1 new instanced zone? that should be patched for free, but the churn a profit off of it, now dont get me wrong i boguhtthem myself, but now i look back on it, and barely used them, you canplay the whole game to 60 now never using their adventure packs. And yes PvP is coming to EVERQUEST 2 although they said they would never implement PvP to the game from launch. Oh guess what their CHARGING YOU MONEY FOR IT. LoL it shoulda been free, all of it. besides DoF and the Sky of Fire expansion or whatever they are calling it.

First off what is the point of stalking the boards when you quit, like your going to deter people from giving money to evil Soney......

Anyway, It was your chose to not use the ad paks........And they were several instanced and and regular zones with new mobs and wepons ad quests.

The ad paks were alot of fun becuase you could group in them, good loot, good Xp, fun story lines, and all new items. Not to mention that they had things like destructable scenery and movable boards.

So once again maybee you should have used them.

And Dude, PVP is free..........

dude im not stalking the boards im stating what i think about the game, that is what these forums are made for. And learn to read man, i did use those zones, and i still stand firm on the fact that they should of been free, not costing us a dime here and a nickle there for every new item thats horse poopy. Dude its still the fact that they said THEY WOULD NEVER IMPLEMENT ANY PvP THEY NEVER HAD ANY PLANS FOR IT THEY NEVER WERE GOING TO DO IT. Until. Blizzard took away all their subscribers, now they are trying to reel them back in, and with Fan Bois, excuse the term, such as yourself boasting this PvP non sense, is simply horrid. It doesnt make it a better game at all, it changes nothing. Its the same boring crap same horrid loot, same grind, same everything, all for nothing cept now we can whip the snot outta eachother. And im pretty sure i have been a customer of Sony far longer than you have been so dont ever knock me for going through these forums man.

Now it isnt all bad what i got to say, i do have to comment that PvP shoulda been put in the game from the begining. It made no sense in a good verse evil game ot have no PvP it was a huge letdown for me, but this still isnt enough to bring me back perhaps if they promised more raid mobs, and better loot, and more content than kill X amount of creature X quest to get the slimy coat of fur quests. Like the boast on adding 1,000's of new quests when in reality they are all the same basis, just for different creatures. Just accept it man, SOE really messed this game up and now their finnally picking up the peices. All of this should of been out on release.

You could also change your post to say that each WoW content patch adds much more content than an EQ2 adventure pack and plus the patches are free, look at AQ, DM, ZG, etc, all free and all much larger and detailed than one of the adventure packs.

You can also change your post to say that asherons call 1 does massive content updates for free, and much better than the EQ2 adventure packs. Same thing with the now defunct Asherons call 2.
