After getting my beta key from mmorpg, I downloaded the client, and when trying to patch, the progress bar appears for a few seconds and then I get the same error in the threads title.
I have tried running as administrator and allowing it on my firewall but it hasn't helped.
Anyone else experiencing this? Has any solution been found?
Thanks

Well I downloaded the game about two weeks ago, and played, also had to patch a few times. In every case I would either get fail or waiting. Opened the NCSoft folder and right clicked on the .exe folder and ran in administrator.
I know you already did this but it works for me, and supposedly many others have to do this. Best I could say is delete and start over. But I'm not much of a computer expert. I could only do things with direction from others.
Me and my brother (both on closed Beta) have same problem.
Tried "run as administrator" on all EXE related files of the game (there are only 4-5 of them) - didn't help.
I think it could be related to NCSOFT putting the servers down before the Beta Weekend... Guess we will just have to wait :-)
Just my 2 cents...

well...
I completly removed the game and then tried to run the new installer i re-downloaded from NCSOFT and still same error
went to a third computer (my wife's - also in closed beta) and there is just hangs - more or less the same
could it be only in Europe servers.... AzurePrower - where are you from?
EDIT: tried again and now on her computer same error
EDIT #2: I opened a ticket with Wildstar support... let's wait and see what they say
Just my 2 cents...
Considering you and the OP are both from Israel. Perhaps the problem lies there?

Everything is possible... Guess i will have to wait for the support to get back to me

Bump
anyone else having this problem?

Well, last time I checked I could not even click accept to download it. Account creation went smoothly though.
Well - there is a problem.
Wildstar tech support referred me here -

This is a DNS resolving issue (related to DNS propagation).
In order to solve this (workaround at least) you will need to manually change your DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8), and clear your DNS cache afterwards (run as admin without "": "ipconfig /flushdns")
run the installer (should even work with running it as admin - but feel free to run it as admin if you wish) - and you will see this problem solved :-)
Thanks all

Thanks for the tip! I have found another workaround - download Hotspot Shield
It made the patcher work for me, I'm downloading right now...
tried the hotspot shield, was fast simple an got the patch too work. grats too those that had no issues but this is a option for those that don't want jump threw hoops, can always uninstall it after.
Just wanted to update that the patcher now seems to work without Hotspot Shield for me, which has caused the download speed to increase from 1MB/sec at max to 10MB/sec
Happy Wildstar beta everyone!
Take down your windows and antivirus firewale must be fine than
lol
I had the same problem but it fixed and start downloading Hotspot Shield Program
