Cyrodiil Player Kill Task

MongooseMongoose Member UncommonPosts: 86

Anyone else think that 20 is a bit gimped? Usually you can kill 20 before you even make it to the keep by offing the defenders outside. Then for the entire siege you have a completed kill task and sometimes hope to die just so you can turn it in real quick lol.

I think 200 would be reasonable. Maybe change the 1k AP to 5k or something.

This quest is broken to begin with... It doesn't make sense that when a raid of 20 people kills one person they all get credit... Pushing this to a higher number would just mean the players rotate to the keep less... One well placed shot from a Treb can kill at least half that amount in one hit.

The quest should be eliminated completely or just give credit for to the person who lands the kill or highest % of damage or whatever.

Up the kills, up the reward. The reward is lousy.

I think its working as they designed it.

Its a crap reward and a quick quest (like all quests in ESO, tag a NPC/PC and you get full credit)

They made it a quick easy quest that you have to return to hand in to stop people farming it.

Or have it scale in tiers with no top number.  Maybe have the tiers do diminishing returns so people want to turn them in but if you can get credits for participating in 1k kills without returning to the quest giver you should get something for it.

The rewards are based on not having to get in the kill shot or most damage which is why they seem kind of low.  If they made it so you have to actually kill the enemy or do the most damage I think the rewards would need to be much higher but it would also reduce the value of teamwork quite a lot and diminish the value of healer and tank builds since DPS would be able to pretty much dominate the kill credits.

I agree, furthermore, they should time lock it... maybe make it so you can only turn in once per hour, or make it so you only get credit if you are solo or in a group... Raids don't count.

Like I said it's bull shit the way a full raid can kill one player and everyone in the raid gets a +1 tick.

Increasing the number just encourages the zerg... Taking/Defending a keep in a raid can easily rack up 1000 kills in no time.

They're thinking about improving it (from reddit Brian Wheeler)

    • There are discussions about adding more PVP Quests in Cyrodiil or simply making the Kill 20 players quest a bit more available around the Keeps instead of back at the home portal Keeps.

Uh, no thanks, I could not think of a worse suggestion.....well, I probably could if I hung around this thread long enough....

Healers and CC specialists don't fight for killing blows, nor do they do the most damage, but they can have the most influence. Rewarding people to DPS eliminates an awful of players from earning a justifiable reward.

Yeah I hear ya.. that's the X factor... However I still stand by the fact a full raid shouldn't get full credit for a single kill... That's just broken mechanics... group ok... Raid c'mon now...

Well, right now the pvp rank is meaningless because people are using /stuck to respawn back and turn in the quest faster.

SOE changes name to Daybreak games, cause dey break games.

For my money, the way to do it is to keep a running tab with an ever increasing number required and send you the also ever-increasing quality rewards in the mail when you reach the milestones...20, 50, 100, 200...and so on.

But whatever...it's not a perfect system but at least they're going out of their way to promote kills as a good way to get rewards vs. the predictable keep swapping that plagued WAR and other RVR games.

Like everything else, I'm sure it'll get tweaked a lot over time.

The kill 20 worked just fine for me. I like it just the way it is.

    lol at the above poster.......

I got 20 kills in 1 to 5 minutes, run back to portal run to the board, deliver quest, accept same quest, run back to the portal, run to the front line, 1 min later.....run back to the portal rinse and repeat 50 times.

You have no problem with that ? good lord some pepple are realy mindless.....
The exp you get is already sub par and running 15 minutes back and forth with 1 to 5 min of gameplay just sucks major a$$.

Dunno about you there m8, but i like to pick up exp as much as posible to level up and gain more stats and skills instead of keep running back and forth like some sort of ping pong race to the quest board.

To each his own offcourse !
Its just one of those flaws from Zenimax who just dont seem to get how you can make your mmo more fun instead of punishing players.

Man you love to bitch. Every post I see of yours on TESO is a complaint or flat out contempt for Zenimax. It's pretty simple, don't play the game. This is beta, do you really think they will not make changes to this on release? For the few of you on here complaining about the quest being too easy, that is kinda the point. It is on par with the PvE leveling. I personally think the only thing they should change is maybe have it auto turn in and restart by clicking something in your journal. Already sent that idea into Zenimax. Honestly all I see is bitching, it's a wonder programmers even bother making games anymore having to put up with all the crying bullshit.

I agree with some of you on this. The small task doesnt fit the big war. Needs balancing and the AMA Zenimax just did had this very question and they are considering upping it.
