Cry engine:

Yes this game is very nice.. grafhics wise well done XLGAMES

Combinations of classes/builds.. pricesless so many options to have its a good thing

BUT

This game has serieus issues and i do hope they will be adressed

in archeage you can kill people with one hit or an combo even @ level 50.. there are certain builds that just one shot people in pvp.. its like playing on a private server.. THIS ISSUE REALLY NEEDS TO GET FIXED

OPEN WORLD PVP?

AA is NOT open world pvp.. half of the map are safe zones and the pvp you get in some zones are timed pvp

impossible to raid city of other faction because WTFpwnage guards who one hit you

Norh island has only 4 castles for territory control ( didnt play north island tho.. russians dont have it yet)

Sandbox? well i dont know.. it got houses yes.. i had more of a themepark feeling in this game then sandbox..

If you like playing farmville and walk for hours and hours to get coins for an house this might be your game.. trading packs all over the world is a big thing in AA and its very time consuming because you need to walk on a donkey with a pack on your back or a ship to get to other side

I found the game grindy aswell. especially in crafting

combat: is nice with their combo system but they seems to fcked up armor so bad with stats that melee is totally unviable in this game.. a heavy geared warrior has almost none magic resist if he wears heavy armor..   warrior build tank get also one shotted by mages.. how is this even possible..

I like pvp but AA is much more focused on social / farming and trading packs

Trion needs to make pvp servers..

Certain builds can get hardcountered by others... what sort of mages were those (which other 2 branches did they have)? What sort of heavy warriors were getting one shotted? How well crafted were the items on both? details man give us details?

Also like EVE-Online there are safe zones (the empire territories) and unsafe ones ( the ocean and soonish the north continent, EVE-Online likewise did not have a territory control at the start ).

I think considering all you can do in this MMO far outweighs any niggles to be honest, for me anyway.

It's sure seems it would. It has to be something though. Maybe a lot of little things? Outside of the weird stuff, the game seems too cool not to have been a bigger hit.

Didn't it launch as p2p? Right around the time p2p went into a slump? I'm wondering if they rushed to make a unexpected f2p conversion.

I would say it is even worse...

The graphics is actually pretty bad, never seen so poor textures for a while. Overall the game feels very cheap - generic, dull and boring world.

The game has probably the best character character I have ever seen. But it seems that not all details are then transferred to actual game, could be just my eyes though.

Class system is not my cup of tea, the issues were already mentioned. There is only 1 melee class, 1 hybrid melee/bow/stealth and 1 bow class, all the rest is magic and mostly ranged.

The game is heavily gear dependent.

The combo system is very nice, you get skills causing different states and skills working as exploits. Lots of fun there, imo.

Anyone thinking this game is a sandbox is delusioning yourself. It is just another "asian grinder", with a twist.

If you are looking for something more unique and like asian games, AoW is much better choice(have seriously flaws too).

ya the video yesterday the guy posted 2 of them...go see that, it looks fun and has collision detection that means NO ZERGING

and you get mounts so big deal on running around, perhaps this is bringing the RPG of MMORPG back, versus the moron pvp kill kill kill kill attitude and you might actually buy looks a things have to experiment and KNOW that certain people are gonna smoke you vs certain types.

    Looking forward to it.

Sure, you can make some nice screenshots but the game does not look like that. It is the same as LOTRO - fantastic scenery shots but the game graphics is very dated and such scene captures do not represent how the game looks.

From the link you posted, the game on max DX11 settings is more like screenshot with title: "I will miss my farm house on the island."

I do not need to browse internet to find screenshots, I can launch the game...an in fact anyone ever watching gameplay videos will notice the same.

If you can't play the game at max settings with dx 11 how is that the game's fault? It doesn't look like that? Those were screenshots taken ingame not wallpapers. And first you say that you can't capture how the game looks (which totally doesn't make sense) and then say to watch videos? Do you know how lame is youtube rendering of videos? That i could call a false representation of how the game looks.

He probably has settings low or has a computer than cannot handle it on full settings...

This is the only MMO on Cryengine, and it is amazing looking (graphically) due in part to this.

If you are aware of development nuances then you would know Cryengine 3 is amazing for MMO development..

I didnt play the game yet and im not so well inform about it, but for i know:

1 - The game is not Open World PvP, so no idea why you expect it. There is PvP around the world but with limitations and rules. I might be wrong but you can kill someone of your faction at any moment?

2 - Sandbox? I allways read around that is a game with some sandbox features, its tottaly diferente. Seams that is a little about players, some will play as a themepark, there is quests and maybe story quests, others will play more like sandbox style.

3 - Grind for crafting, time consuming to do stuff? I hope so, its what i expect from it, otherwise i play 1 of so many other games around with "instante action".

If im wrong about something, plz someone with more info correct me.

That is DX11 and max settings.

It is the same area as a screenshot with airships above, just facing the actual "world".

Yes, there are places where the game looks gorgeous but most of the time...it's damn ugly.

It's an area for housing, ofc it's empty without player made buildings/farms..also don't expect players to place their stuff perfectly. If how people place houses is a gamebreaker aspect for you then yeah you might have to look for something else.

At start there are like 12 housing areas, so saying that the game looks like that is not true at all.

You are really dense... It has nothing to do with housing, this is how the game looks, pretty much anywhere - barren landscape, poor textures, bad graphics.

Textures look high quality and high detail

'bad graphics' is a term you can use but you'd have to say in relation to what...

Bad in relation to Assassins Creed Black Flag?  Not really, I'd say about the same.

Bad in relation to most other games?  Nope, looks amazing.

So bad in relation to WHAT?

You can't debate so you berate.

You can't talk facts, you personally attack.
