Hello, looking for anyone who can help me sort out this build.
I would like to play a two handed weapon focused sorcerer, IE - The Thane from DAOC or something similar, a kind of front-line fighter who uses magic and melee combat.
Looking at the skill trees of both sorcerer and two handed weapons it seems like there could be some great synergy there (Arcane fighter passive, critical charge, critical surge, etc)
However I am at a cross roads in terms of magicka vs stamina. Should I focus on one or the other? Should I just half and half them and go full hybrid, keeping them even? Should I go with 5 medium armor and 2 light, or 2 light and 5 medium?
Any help would be appreciated.

Focus stamina but take a magika race. Use 5 pieces of medium and you can then mix with 2 pieces of light for more magicka or 2 pieces of heavy to be more tanky
the enchants on gear would have to be stamina.
I should mention that Race wise I was planning to go Redguard.
If you are going sorc tree with two hand, your best bet is to focus on magika based skills. Magicka will best be served by 5 light and 2 medium. Though not sure what good you will get from the 2 medium pieces. A better choice would be to go all light or to go 5 light/2 heavy and put immovable on your action bar. There isn't really any benefit you get from 2 medium that makes sense for what you are going for. Also, you get two weapon bars. You could have them both be 2handers, but you would definitely limit yourself. A better option is to pick up a staff, either resto or destruction to give you some ranged options and capitalizing on a magicka focused build.
Most people in medium armor are going 5/2 (either light or heavy depending on what you are going for). It makes most sense on bow/dual-wield weapon skills. It also synergizes well with people using stealth. It makes much less sense for other weapon sets.
What you really need to focus on is how often you think you will be using which abilities and lean toward stacking the stat that helps those.
For example, there is nothing wrong with being a sorcerer with sword and board and using light armor and stacking magicka if the S&B abilities will be something you use much less than the Socerer abilities. Or the opposite (use medium and stack stamina) if you're going to be using the weapon abilities with just a bit of sorcerer abilities thrown in.
If you want to use both equally, then you have a problem

I was under the impression that medium armor was the best armor for offensive focused melee fighters, because of the bonuses to attack speed + crit and stamina.
The synergy in Sorc + two handed seems to be geared a bit toward a crit-focused melee fighter (with crit surge which makes crits heal you for 50%, two handers have critical charge which gives you a 100% crit) so the medium armor I thought would make sense for more crit chance + attack speed and stamina.
The main skills I was looking at were:
Crit surge
Critical charge
weakening prison (target is disoriented for 16.5 seconds and takes more dmg)
Dark Conversion (Self heal + magicka regen, drains stamina)
Passives:
Explotionation (15% critical chance against enemies affected with dark magic, synergy with weakening prison)
Arcane fighter (Increases status effects by 100%)
I also planned to go werewolf later on, and the werewolf skills are heavily stamina focused.
Medium is good for criticals, but if you are looking for the best use of criticals you might want to consider a dual wield sorcerer rather than a two handed weapon sorcerer because you will obviously get more opportunities for critcials with two weapons in use rather than one.
I have been toying with the idea of a dual wield sorcerer. Using a Khajiit sorcerer with 5 medium and 2 light armour and going the dual wield weapon skill tree. Definitely some good skills you can pick up in sorcerer class, medium armour, racial passive and guild passives to get some good critical combos going with that type of build.
Returning to the build that you wanted to do. I think going the Redguard is a good idea for the stamina passives. Since it sounds like you want to be in the thick of things and a sorcerer you may want to consider bumping your health and stamina points. You can always add magic with bonuses to whatever armour you choose. I would have thought light armour would be better to get the magic bonuses but the beauty of ESO is that you can choose whatever armour you want and you should get benefits from it.
Give it a try and as other people have been saying see what skills you like and use more often and then focus your bonuses and armour towards that.

True, but you still need to figure out how you budget your equipment in the meantime.
The same people who were saying that also said that they did that when they re-specced at level cap, not while leveling.
They also said it when you got 20 points of health per point instead of the 10 you get for the other two. This was based on the fact that enchants didn't give any more health than magicka or stamina... so it made sense to spend the level-up points on health since you got more out of it.
Since then, they've done 2 things: you now only get 15 health per point instead of 20 and the health enchants have been buffed to match... i.e. they now give you ~ 1.5 X compared to stamina or magicka enchants of the same level.
Bottom line: spread them around for whatever you need. 49 into health was last months, fotm.

Me too. Always had the conjured antronarch up and then axe and destruction spells on the go while I laughed at the attacks on me in my heavy armour.
Although I do like the different passive benefits you get from putting multiple pieces of the same armour together. Gives more variety to the potential builds.
For my melee templar, for whome magica will be just as important as for a melee sorc, i am going...
3 medium, 2 light, 2 heavy. and a 50/25/25 stat point investment..
This allows me a lot of diversity, and i can level up all 3 armor types.

You have me half-convinced to level armor like that. Especially since I'll be using medium primarily eventually but I like the active skills from heavy and light much better.
