Did you know that the digital download of the regular pre-order version came with 5 day access?
Don't believe me? Go Look.
Buy your game directly from Zenimax and play right freaking now. No codes to wait for, update is instant. If you are patched you can pop right over and log right in.

It depends on where you live and stuff, for some 60$ is a lot for others its very little...
I was a bit worried about the game breaking bugs they had in beta but i bought it anyway for like 30ish eur.... and it looks like they fixed it.
Life is too short to wait 3-6 months to save 30 euro.
Yeah, agreed. My point for posting that was because, for whatever reason, I thought the entire time that only the Imperial Edition people got in 5 days early. So it was a surprise to me that you could get in at the same time with the standard edition. And since I subscribe to the idea that if I can make that mistake, others can too, I figured I would throw it out there.
Well, with the upcomming console release, and the fact that is the first true AAA MMO developed for consoles...
those freeloaders might be surprised, the fact of a real MMO on consoles alone and the game being high quallity will make this game the most succesfull MMO since WoW.. If the quallity is right, people willpay for a game.. And so far the enthralling immersiveness of the game seems to work for a whole truckload of people..
There is not going to be any f2p any time soon....
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Waiting for my 3 day headstart to kick in. Bought it from my favorite game store in town. And while I caved in for pre-order which I usually never do. I did this time but didn't feel the need for the Imp version.
Unfortunaly free today and rest of the week work so doubt if I can even play my 3day headstart lol.
First? Not even close.
I like that and its so true..
Not sure where you got the idea that standard got you in....cause I and many guild mates cannot.

Really? Name a few more....

What do you call DC:UO?

I dunno...what should I call it? Besides a true AAA MMO. Now...name a few more....since what Lord said was "not even close". There must be MANY that have been made already.
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."
And FFXIV: ARR which had a control scheme dedicated completely to using controllers WHICH didn't have the excuse of not being able to use many skills on a hotbar because it WORKS.
I'm just invalidating Lord Bachus' comment.
Bloodaxes can take it from here.

lol...no he can't. He named FFXIV. If that's the best he's got and the best you've got, I'd say that you shouldn't have tried to invalidate what Lord said in the first place. Since what he said is pretty close to the truth. Opinions will vary, but what he said wasn't far off IMO
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."
I'm just giving an example to show that ESO isn't the first.
DC:UO is much of a "true AAA MMO" as ESO is. It can be played on consoles like how ESO is. It was released before ESO. I don't know how much more black and white that can be.
But what ever floats your boat in that fantasy world you got going there.

Console players mostly dont play sub based mmos they allrdy pay more for the games and they need to pay for the online service too (ps+, xlive) it didn't work in the past and it's not gonna work now , but anyway keep deluding yourself that the game won't go f2p i dont care game is very shallow anyway from what i played in beta so i just would play it as a temporary timewaster.

List of MMOs made/being made with a console release in mind:
Everquest Online Adventures, PSO, FF 11, DC:UO, FF XIV, Defiance, DUST 514, PlanetSide 2, Free Realms, PS Home, World of Tanks, Warhammer 40k, War Thunder, ESO, The Division, Diablo 3, PSO 2 and Warframe
and that list was only done with minimalist effort. ESO is not the first and wont be the last to attempt to move into the console market.
People say that exact same thing with every p2p game that releases.. Good luck I really do hope it stays sub based.
"You are all going to poop yourselves." BillMurphy
"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone."
Well they need to justify the money they spend on it somehow for them self, just remember the drama with the lifetimers in LOTRO and TSW after they anounced the f2p move it was glorious.
The game won't go f2p imho. Reason is it has such a huge fanbase and is a great game. Sure, there will be a lot of people who quit after the first month, every game has that, but it will still hold a huge niche base of players. FFXIV:ARR is a good example of this.
Anyway, I will definitely pay the sub for this game. Once the curious players leave, and the hardcore ES players are left, it will be worth every penny.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I don't think it's going to be within three months though, that's just unrealistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if we in one year would see ZeniMax make a huge announcement concerning switching to a F2P or B2P model because that's basically what we have come to expect from MMOs over the last couple of years.
ESO will give us some unique insight into whether or not a largescale Western styled MMO can run with a subscription on a console platform. That's something that hasn't been tested very much and if they can pull that off I think we might see a change in the market dynamic. On the other hand, if they cannot pull it off and they offer B2P on the consoles, what will happen to the PC market? Only time will tell but I'm quite interested to see how it all plays out.
The next generation of MMORPG will be GPT2P. Based on players feedback companies realized that developing a 750 millions dollars game with a ( Get Paid to Play ) option.
You start playing and the game starts poping 20$ from the DvD tray... I know they are only tweenies unfortunatly but they are doing what they can. Maybe in a couple months they will become 50$.
I just don't think its worth my money that's all, i played enough p2p games over the years and im trough with that they always go f2p anyway regardless what the fanboys or the devs say at launch so think what you want i dont care.
