Buy or not to buy?

NaiperNaiper Member Posts: 12

I am very sceptical towards this game however I am kinda bored with lack of other games that would currently interest me.

So I ask one question. Should I buy it?

If a $60 purchase is going to cause problems for you, financially, then no.  Otherwise, give it a shot.  It's a fun game and there are worse ways to spend your money.

    You make me like charity

If you are not sure i suggest wait. Game has lot of issues that need to be dealt with.

I find game lots of fun when it works. Once all the kinks have been ironed out it will be much better experince.

    its your money.

I am not nor would I but that is my opinion- In 6 months to a year if there are no new Ca$h #$hop items and the game remains a sub game I would buy it so long as I can have a nice in depth look without  hype and "reviews"(that give every AAA game at least an 8/10)

Anyhow, buy it if you want? I guess....

No. Check some streams before or if a friend got it already go to his house and play a bit.

I don't like it, some others do. Don't listen either of us. Check it on your own.

Honestly mate, this game (ESO) does things a lot different than the standard. Anything from class building, how you go about your crafting, to stat implementation (which takes a little to understand as Stam and Mag affect different things).  Just exploring everywhere and trying different buiilds alone is incredible, questing is a little different and stay somewhat true to Elder Scrolls style since you can and actually have to find certain quests if you want to. You can make choices (seemingly, a lot of the time) for quests and so far, the story is interesting.

It seems like most players actually play their class different than someone else and the cool thing is, a lot of builds people will be running will actually be viable PvP or PvE (depending on your playstyle and the structure of content) and just that is exciting to me. I don't know a whole about the game yet but so far, when the game is online, it's incredible and worth a buy.

I love the game and I agree with him. Check it out for yourself.

The answer is yes.  Games like this only come out every 10 years,  Its worth the price to give it a try even if you don't think you'll like it.   Just do not start in Ebonheart Pact, its horrible grapichs and storyline.    Start in either AD or DF and you'll be 100% satisfied.

Sometimes i wonder if you are being funny with your posts.

No one can guarantee him 100% satisfaction not even Zenimax. Sometimes i feel like you are very good at parody because that is how your posts come across.

That ESO will have 20 million subs before end of the year was another gem.

Watching some of the streams or YOUTube vids is a good way to get an idea. I would say yes. I'm having a blast. If (in the worst case) $60/2 a day for the 1st month is bad for you, then no. Otherwise if you like the vids and the money isnt an issue. Join us!

pretty much this - on a personal not i would say buyer beware - but you need to decide for yourself

Don't buy it yet. For some it works at the moment, for some it doesn't.

For me, it does not work, and I would have liked to have saved my money to be honest.

But if it worked for me, I would like every second of it.

    So, it is your gamble.

I am still pretty tempted but its bit of a bullshit thing if they make a sub game but lock the imperial to the special editions almost like microtransactions hidden in just a more pricey version.

Well then this is one of those points in your life where you decide if you want to take a stand or just conform.

EU is having none of the server and account issues that the US is having so don't base your decision on those problems.

I'm enjoying it.. dunno if you should buy it though, don't know you.

There's nothing special about the Imperial race. Don't let that issue bother you. You don't need a horse straight away either, there's wayshrines everywhere that get you around faster for free if you use them directly. Buying before launch though (any edition) to get the any race any faction bonus is worth it though.. so decide quickly.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

A lot of people find it tons of fun, including myself. Others openly hate it with a passion and want nothing more than for it to fail. Watch some videos and make a decision, like everyone else did

Is it that hard to come up with $60 and play for a free month? If you like it then keep playing, if not then you lost what ... 2 dollars a day?

If I am curious about a game, I will pay for it and play. I am not curious about Wildstar or FFXIXVIXIXV so I never paid for them.

I have spent money on a SP game that lasted only 20 hours and was please with it. To be sure a full month of game play is worth the price.

Its not to be honest but I have pre-ordered too many games withing last couple of years that absolutely suck :) So I try to stop supporting rubbish developers with their over-hyped products. Sometimes though I just can't resist so I came to ask you guys as you will tell me more honest opinion then "profesional" reviewers :D

Then there are so many other things you could be doing.

Seriously, there's no reason to buy something you are sceptical about. If you haven't played the betas then I highly encourage you to wait for some sort of trial period. Why waste the money when you could be doing anything else with your time?

Now, if $60.00 is not a big deal and you aren't the type of person to say "damn I can't believe I wasted that money" and you can't find anything else that would make you happier, more fulfilled, then sure, why not?

If you are the type of person to spend money on something you would never buy in the first place and then come to the forums to complain about "wasting your money" then why feed that fire?

I'm loving the game but I'm a huge elder scrolls fan.

I also am finding that when I just immerse myself in what is going on (as opposed to "I have to level, I have to level") then the game is more enjoyable for me. So it depends on how you approach game play.

But my advice? Take your $60, buy yourself a good dinner or treat you and your significant other/friend "whoever" to a movie and dinner and wait for a trial.

So.. you've messed up your install and/or your computer is messed up? Everyone else is playing fine.

What's that got to do with comparing the EU to the US problems anyway? The US server is down and there's an account problem.. your messed up client is nothing to do with that. My facts are fine, you just can't understand them.

Naiper only knows that, to me it looks like Naiper is resisting the temptation to buy and not only that buy to buy into the special edition that EA twists people's arms into buying. So buying is a sign of weakness - no backbone - worthlessness and taking a stand is telling eso to shove it up their rears and not giving them one penny.

    Hope that clears it up.

For some it is not about the actual cost but perceived value of that money i.e if a game is 'worth' it.
