Got a 5gb patch now, downloading at a horrible 3.5mb/s, servers being hammered.
It really throws me off that they use mB for MegaByte. Small m means milli. I dl around 5 mB/s (lol) and when I first saw it I was like, "HOLY SHIT! This will take months!".
People that dont know the difference between MB (megabytes) and Mb (megabits) annoy me more.....

Welp started out small..now went to a 5 gig download
Next one will be the complete 22gig download and reinstall.......2 hours ETA even with my download speed.......forget the baby jeebus....im now crying :P

wow how annoying I did get the download then a repair then now it says install wth is going on lol as if the patch screwed the install on my computer and it is now redownloading all 22gig
I think im gonna wait until they tell us maintenance is complete.
This whole downloading the entire client thing might be an artifact of the server upgrade where the patcher doesnt know whats going on with versions so just decides to download the whole thing again.

I learned from beta never press play button only do the updates then use the exe file to play the game, you never know when you gonna get hit with the epic auto redownload of the entire game bug.
Ok, I restored client from my backup drive and patch was only 25 mb:-) They should really pay more attention to their launcher tho or atleast patching process of the client.
Back in game now. Some people were hit with a repair then a reinstall.

Same re'dling now. That......man.....the whole 22gb....BS that is.
Open the install folder (most often C:Program Files (x86)enimax Online) Depending on the client that is installed (NA or EU), players should open the folder of the server they wish to play on
For NA server: C:Program Files (x86)enimax OnlineThe Elder Scrolls Onlinegameclient For EU server: C:Program Files (x86)enimax OnlineThe Elder Scrolls Online EUgameclient
Locate and open the file titled eso.exe If they choose to, players can now recreate a shortcut from that folder directly

I got hit with a repair, then a reinstall, then a repair again...
In the old days, back when I was an asshole producer, I'd fire people over stuff like this. This is the sort of thing that drives players away from a game. Driving people away from a game costs a company money; not just in the short term, but also in the long term, because players don't come back once you've pissed them off enough.

After Hitting the Repair Button, my whole Game Folder was Empty. Nothing to start anymore, hopefully others are more lucky.
Guys I found a way around the mandatory re-downloading of the whole client. What I did was cancel the download. Then I went to the ESO.exe file NOT the client and launched it from there and it works. As for what to do about the launcher and future updates, im not sure... but maybe someone can find out and post it on here?
Again the steps I took were:
Cancel the download of the 23 gb by going to 'game options' under the NEWS section in the launcher and clicking CANCEL. Then CLOSE the launcher
Click on your game Icon and right click to the find the root directory of the game find the ESO.exe file and double click.
It worked for me and I hope it does too.. Hopefully that helps yall out. Agan please post workaround or solution for the launcher issue.
I downloaded the small patch (about 25mb roughly) and have restarted the patcher numerous times with no Large patch or repair button. Have logged in to character select and everything looks like it should.

Everyone that is saying they are getting massive downloads, check again.
Is it downloading a huge amount, or is it PATCHING a huge amount, there is a difference.
