Are the AC2 players being relocated?

ElapsedElapsed Member UncommonPosts: 2,329

Are the AC2 players being given free AC1 keys? I hope Turbine is going to give AC2 players something. Free DDO would be awesome but that won't happen. I don't see the harm of a free AC1 cd-key, it should help AC1 and give Turbine more money in the long run.

We didn't get jack.  A refund for the expansion back in August would have been nice.  Who wants an expansion for a game thats closing in 4 months?

Sorry guys. Sequels just don't work out in the MMO market. Look at Everquest 2. They're going to be getting the axe really soon as well.

HAHA, I don't think so. EQ2 isn't doing as well as EQ1 or it's competitor at the time, WoW, but it is not even close to as doing as AC2. EQ2 is going no where. If you want to play prophet, it would be a safer bet to say MXO or PS will be closing.

WoW fanboy alert! WoW fanboy alert! someone get the hoses hes started to smoke!(flaming the game or w/e i needed something to say after the alert)

Considering during prime time almost all the servers are in the red, they merged some "low" population and now they are overcrowded, almost unbearably so. There are about 20 guilds on the pvp server alone that have over 100 members some over 200.. i think the highest is like 213?

but ya dude pass me some of what your smoking.

      1. Sequels DO work in the mmorpg market. Astpnia  3 is doing just fine. Runescape 2 is doing good. (RS 1 is on their classic servers.)  AC2 did not fail becase it had a "2" in its name. AC1 and AC2 were same only in name.  Game features, game mechanics, were very different in each game. AC2 failed from horrible missmangement, a 50% finnished game released at launch, and many other things no sane, nor insane, manager would allow.

      2. Please post your SOURCES of where you got that EQ2 is in danger of getting closed? If you do not post your sources, then you sir are spreading missinformation. You are lying. So... let's see your sources. image BTW, EQ2 currently has between 100k - 200k solid accounts. AC2 peaked at 50k accounts at release. After 1 year of being out, it had roughly 6k accounts.

EQ2 won't die its run by a company that has a lot of experience with mmorpgs. However, the point made where sequels are bad I agree with to an extent. Why? Part of the fact its a sequel is they're trying to attract the fanbase of their original game and in eq's and ac's case both were awful at attracting players of the original game.
