2+ days this has been going on. Anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. All progress lost unless you continually log off after each step of a quest to save progress. Response time from ZOS is also disgusting. Regretting every bit of this purchase. Good thing I have Wildstar beta to play this weekend and for good at the end of May. This game is a terrible mess of broken quests and broken zones.
Drama queen much? You know you're talking utter shite but I can't for the life of me fathom out why you're lying?
EU and US megaservers.. I play on EU and have not had a single roll-back, neither has anyone in the guilds I'm a member of.
You must be speshul since it would happen to all of us, if indeed it happened at all.

EDIT----- Just logged in and my character is exactly the same as it was last night when the servers went down...
Its a bit weird really, you would think that both server types would be suffering from the same problems, but from the information coming in at the moment, its the US server that is having the most problems, with extended downtime and other 'issues' the EU one inexplicably has appeared to be suffering from far less problems, the only thing i can think of is that the server loadings themselves may be a contributing factor, as the software on both servers should be the same, unless there is also a hardware issue involved, and the hardware is somehow superior for the EU servers than the US ones, but i seriously doubt that. It would be interesting to know what the loadings are like for both servers, and if its a load issue after all?

Doesn't matter whether it is a car or some software - there is no fundamental difference. And the car could be the harder to test. The design process is the same for both - different tools, different techniques for sure but fundamentally the same. Example:
Sorry the plane crashed but:
the air traffic control software is new and still has a few bugs in
or the lithium battery caught fire - its new technology.
And - needless to say - a lot of testing goes into ensuring that there are no crashes.
Yes problems happen - from many companies. And if the issue is "trivial" we should put it in perspective, stay calm and chill. We mustn't excuse it though - that is the wrong answer. Only by making ones irritation clear will companies get the message that bugs are not acceptable; they might be forgiven but are not acceptable..
Old story - from my mental archives - back when the USSR had broken up and economic advisors were trying to change things. Question to Russian "class" : what do you do if you buy a radio and it turns out to be defective / broken. Their answer: sell it on as quickly as possible. The concept of returning it was alien.
The design process is NOT the same between a car and a piece of software and it shows a massive knowledge gap that you even make that claim. A car is mechanical. Here's an example, a car is constructed with a LOT of "known" environments. Engineers need to construct them to operate on 1) Pavement and 2) Concrete. What happens if you drive it on a road of nails? What happens if you drive it on a road that's, quite literally, full of pot holes? What happens if you drive it on ice? What happens if you drive it down a mountain? Why though? Why can't we drive it down a mountain without it turning into a heaping ball of flames and death? It's not designed for that.
Software, on the other hand, needs to account for a myriad of environments. Different version of processors, different numbers of processors, different graphics cards, different input devices, different operating systems and any combination thereof. Quite LITERALLY, you are looking at MILLIONS of different system combinations. In a car you have 1.
Please don't talk about things that you have absolutely no clue about. First of all, you look like a fool when you do. Secondly, you insult people who actually do it for a living. If you believe that more testing or more development time is going to make this sort of issue go away, you're extremely naive.
A last generation BMW probably has more electronics than your whole house. From transmission box to comfort and safety systems. Not to mention the Tesla cars. It not 2000 anymore. Some cars don't even have mechanic locks anymore.
And are you implying that there are no vehicles for rough terrain? Cars do work on ice with ... you guessed it ... electronics that control the tire movements.
We sent rovers to Mars mate. With tons of software.
Seems to me they're working to resolve the issue. Anyways, enjoy your time in WildStar, I'm sure you won't encounter any bugs.
I did, all the npc's were floating in the air so I just stopped playing it, not to mention terrible optimization with 50+ people on screen, looks 10 years old. boring ass quests, thank god that the UI got improved. Not really sure what this brings to the table besides re-living WoW's glory days of 40 man raids that half the raid be ready on time and difficult PvE when today people can't handle one wipe.
Atleast neverwinter went back 7 hours, where here were going back 2 days. What a waste of my time. Can nobody launch a game without bugs?
In 15 years I have never played, even once, a game that launched without bugs.
Agreed.... but some are worse than others.
Logging into someone elses account however is up there with the worse bugs I've ever heard.
I agree. This bug takes the cake. Never played a MMO with such a serious security breach on 3rd day of release.
This game releases tomorrow. Anything you have experienced so far is early access, which is basically a paid stress test before release, and anything you experienced is completely your own fault for not waiting for the proper release.
Well it's released. Now what excuse are you going to use? 3 days and the response is to log out everytime you do something.
hahah - rollbacks, logging into other peoples accounts, mail dupes, the list goes on and on. Some fixed, some not. You can defend this game until you are blue in the face but it will end up with the same fate Star Wars had. Free to play will be here long before it was expected.
No rollback's experienced from the 30th, only some minor lags here and there happened only 2 times. What bother are downtime for patch/manteinance at evening hours ( when a normal person can play if it's out all the rest of the day )

Who started the analogy comparing software to a car? If a car has "bugs" people die. That's why they spend so much money on crash testing and all that. There is no way a software company can afford to do the kind of QA the auto industry has to do.
Please stop using bad analogies. It's almost as bad as fast food ones.

EU here too, has been fine so far. Not playing in "greenshades" though.
