I'd say undead are overpowered. Will of the forsaken should be balanced with respect to all the undead affecting spells out there. While we are at it, shadowmeld is a bit unbalancing, especially on pvp servers. It isn't unbalancing in the sense of race vs. race but simply too hard to ignore and hence servers are overpopulated in both night elves and undead.
I think the realms are stuffed to the gills with Nightelves and Undead becasue the seem "cooler" to the average fantasy buff than the other races. I persoanlly think the races are fairly well balanced. There were a few that pretty much bit (Troll and Dwarf come to mind...both had nearly usless special abilities) but they have recently been brought up to speed.
And now to almost completley contradict myself, I would have to say that the races with the most usefull abilities are probably undead, night elves, and tauren. The undead also get an especially nice racial cleric ability.
It also depends a bit on what you are playing. For example, gnomes make fantasic mages with their 5% Int bonus and the ability to escape form snares. Due to blink mages are damn hard to snare anyway, add another escape ability on top of that and you have a combo that's almost immune to roots and snares. The esacpe from snares ability is also great for warriors, since a rooted warrior is pretty much toast versus anyone with a ranged attack.
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
I've heard people say mages, I've heard people say paladins I've heard people say Shamans.... but I personally find a rogue would be most over powered because they can drop a player 10 levels higher then there own If there played correctly that is. Sure shamans have mail armor and are spell casters and have totems and have ghost wolf form but in the end there not that over powered. Then there are paladins... there not over powered there just good at staying alive. PErsonally I hate how people say a class is over powered. I got my ass beat by a rogue so many times and think there over powered because while I can only kill things 3 levels higher then my own at most cuz I am a nature spec druid. there able to kill things 10 levels higher.... but in the end the whole "this class is over powered" thing is all just some ones whining and crying about how they got there butt kicked by some one and there unhappy. It's always nerf this class nerf that class. Just shut up! Cry me a river! So I can build an I don't give a damn! So you can get over it! Personally in the end as much as I feel rogues are over powered I've just lost the will to care about that all I do is move on and play the game as always.
Warriors, and I play a Warrior my self. For the lack of skill it takes to play one you can still own everyone. I think its mainly their epic gear for one, and how the stats affect damage and crit chances.

Well Warriors are the greatest tanks but... my sister says that Warriors are the most hosed classes there are. A while back while all the other classes were getting new skills with an uber chance hit thing to them Warriors got a new animation to a craptacular skill. Warriors are said to have the most expensive skills to buy and add that to the fact that Mail armor at the higher levels isn't cheap to repair. For some I guess it is easy but supposedly the warrior class isn't cheap to play with. But then again I could be wrong about them being difficult.

A rogue cant kill a player 10 levels above him unless you absolutely suck. First off even if he can hit you with decent accuracy...it takes a ton of energy to keep a player stunned. If you are 10 levels higher and a priest or warlock....fear him and he is dead. If you are a mage...hit a health pot and sheep him and he is dead. Paladin should never die...rogue should get bored and run away after a while. A warrior should rip him apart at 10 + llvls. Shaman and druids, well they know what they can do to a rogue 10 lvls lower. Hunter would laugh at a rogue that level, lol
Even in pve a good geared rogue at best is doing stuff 3 levels up , maybe 4 if he wants a real challenge....but would be too time consuming to justify continually doing it.
Overpowered...all i have to say is totem totem totem FROSTSHOCK, self rez and FROSTSHOCK. Almost anyone you talk to from teh alliance would rather have a shaman than a pally in pve and pvp.
Anyway for the most part every class is pretty balanced...even the stupid shaman isnt that far off
yeah, as for races themselves, they are all pretty even. The point made before about Shadowmeld is valid though. I do get jealous of that from time to time. Every race has something that makes them different from the other...and one person will like something more than something else. So, it becomes more of a personal opinion rather than actual fact.

Yeah thats true... the stats of the races don't really make an effect.. it's the special race traits that do like the humans rep bonus or the elves wisp form. That sort of thing is rather helpful because humans progress in standings faster but elves are capable of returning to there body quicker... then there's the undead and there water breathing quite useful if you ask me.
If anything mages are so underpowered. I can't stand people saying that the mage is the most powerful. Mages require a lot of skill. They are more challenging to be good at handling several situations. The reason you keep dying to a mage is because a level 60 mage has probably died a billions times and he has learned to adapt to every situation over any other class grinding up to this level. If you die to a mage at level 60 it's because you are not a very good player. They have the least amount of hp and they really don't do nearly as much damage as a rogue or warrior with nice gear. Guaranteed a mage has died a lot more than you, that's not exactly a class I would call overpowered.
You know what I'm going to elaborate on this more, because it's so upsetting to hear people say that the mage is overpowered, it clearly does not make any sense.
Mage VS Warrior-At this point a warrior can kill a mage with one attack, that's right people one attack. Mage VS Rogue-Finally blink was fixed and a mage can now survive the initial stun of a rogue, but a skilled rogue will easily be able to stun again and leave the mage pretty helpless. Mage VS Druid-A druid can't be sheeped and can constantly heal himself with a fair amount of hp. As long as a druid continuously walks around the mage in bear form there is little the mage can do. The bear stun is nice too. Mage VS Priest-Unbelievable that blizzard has given the mage no source of shadow resistance. The mage will die so incredibly fast with a couple dots, it's just straight up unfair. Mage VS Warlock-I would have to give credit to the mage finally, with a nice upgraded counterspell and a warlock who isn't using shadow attacks, the mage can easily take down an uneducated warlock. Mage VS Hunter-The hunter has been given so much shot crap lately that what the mage used to be primarily best at has now been seconded. A mage is currently a hunter with no pet, lower hp, and weaker armor and attack. Mage VS Paladin-It takes a long time to take down a paladin as a mage. So long that the paladin could probably sit and heal himself until a mage was completely drained of his mana. Mage VS Shaman-hahahahahaha!
Who cares about how much it costs to repair or how much the armor is, I mean the class itself and their epic sets. Just today I killeda 54 druid and a 54 warlock on my 50 warrior with no problem at all. I hit 500-1k crits with mortal strike and I have hit 2,800 with full rage execute. I rarely come across a 1v1 battle I can't win. The only difficult class to beat is a mage, but that is only if I duel them. Otherwise I can always get a charge off and then they are dead.

but trolls and humans are best on horde/ally sides.

Well....errr.... a mage is a class not a race.......

Each race/class combo gets reviewed periodically for game balancing. So if there is a class that is overpowered, it is bound to be nerfed soon.
