I'll be looking forward to this one. I'm not too impress with the initial screenshots that I've seen but I guess it'll improve over time.

The website I'm with is scouring the internet for any single reference on this game (We have the largest gallery of any english site for RO2) http://roii.com.sapo.pt/  The links to the over 100 pictures is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/17052399@N00/ .  Anyway onto what I was saying.  Here is the info we found on this game.

The beta has been pushed back so they can redo the eyes on the Norman and Ellr, since people said they looked freaky.  So instead they let the community know that when their lore reaches the 14th story they will be ready for beta.  Currently its on 11.  http://www.ragnarokonline2.com

Despite this set back, the english version has been under constant translation for some time now.  Coupled with the fact Gravity has the largest translation staff of any game company in the world, We are expecting the beta to hit sometime around e3, since Gravity has showed demos and previews at every major internet gaming expo in the world in the last few months.

Also they want Dimago and Ellr in the game when they open beta.

Based on the screenshots we saw I can tell you about some of the gameplay aspects currently implemented.  No more point and click; it would be impossible to be point and click since the model moved in directions with the demo shots that weren't clicked at (the marker where you click is very noticable).  When your moving the screen starts to blur out like in the drag race playtype in need for speed underground.  They have not slowed down attacks at all, still 5-10 times a second attack speed.  They also upped the variety of attack moves, and armor changes your appearance. They added a humungous vareity of emotions and side actions; the animation of these motions is also fluid.  The game doesn't look like it plays anything like ROSE.  The towns are immense, much much larger then in RO; they also have creative building setups.  Like how you enter the redesigned Al de Baron, you walk across this long bridge that has like a 150 foot free fall into a river (No word if boats are in game).  Also there has been talk about if the world is seamless, there is a very large possibility it is.  Also the environments are jaw dropingly awesome.  They are so serene and calm, everything has a nice warm palette to them.

We also salvaged info from net diving.  We came across an interview with the lead producer of the game.  He said that they are trying to make the game more enjoyable, and it has been compared to Worlds of Warcraft alot.  Including the quest system, although there will be far less quests and the game will concentrate more on community elements.  There are a total of 79 people working on the game, so it won't have anywhere close to the amount of quests that are in Worlds of Warcraft.  The predicted specs we found werent too bad.  For low its GeForce 3 or better, and 128 MB ram; for high its Geforce 5 or better and 512 MB ram.

Onto the actual game.  Each of the 3 races will use thier own leveling system and each will concentrate on something.  Dimago are suppose to be sexy, have flashy techniques, and a complex skill tree.  Ellr will concentrate on magic and using tactic and strategy.  Norman will have thier complex job system where you can switch between jobs and level them, then supplement them with skills learned from other jobs you were.

There is also the Equipment leveling system for weapons and Equipment.

    Yokko Kanno is composing music.

It has its own anti-hack utility developed from what was learned from hacks developed for RO.

So far everyone that has written a review on what they played called it the Sleeper hit of 2006.  There haven't been any bad reviews based on the demo as of yet.

Yea I must agree with the post above me.
But still.. I was looking forward to join the beta! image

I hope they'll change their mind somehow!

I would definetly pay for a pay to play beta, that would definetly limit the amount of people who beta. With the getting them from subscribers there is a much worse chance I will be selected T.T
Hopefully all my chatting in the freeBBS, going in for a GM interview, and having a guild dedicated to teaching new players the ropes won't go unnoticed.

i'm looking forward to this game!... i did not appreciate Ragnarok Online because for me the 2d quallity is quite low, it looks like paperdolls walking in midgard..the actions of the character are very basic, slashing until the enemy dies. the skills are just modified attack, combined with 3d effect. In Ragnarok 2, im hoping that the game controls will be much simpler pref. like the controls in Tantra or RF.. and the quests, i want it to be more challenging so it won't look like ROSE

For some odd reason, that date just seems way to early for me(February yadda yadd yadda). It's nice, because this tells me that the retail release might actually be release before Winter, possibly even before Fall.

    Awesome.

Gravity does have the largest translation staff in the world for any mmo company since they service like 37 countries on 6 continents now, and they expect to increase to services 64 countries by the end of this year. But this game will probably be in testing for a while. The beta in korea and Japan was delayed to redo the eyes on the ellr and norman since people had problems with it. It shouldn't affect translation time though since its purely visual.

See? Why can't EVERYONE have the same amount of people as gravity does? lol

    This question was rhetorical, lol

Don't get your hopes up too much... remember, the place you got this information was Wikipedia. A very cool site it may be, but all the information there is from random sources and people who almost certainly have absolutely no connection with Gravity or any other company that's party to RO2 info.

He brings up a good point.. None of this has been announced officially by Gravity from what I've seen. Can't hurt to hope it's true though
