Ok, Cyrodiil is Awesome BUT is It Viable to Level Through PvP?

XssivXssiv Member UncommonPosts: 359

I'm absolutely loving my time in Cyrodiil but the XP bar is barely moving.   Did the initial quests as well as the player bounty quest and I'm only about a third of the way into level 10.

In GW2, I could get a few levels a night in WvW but that's clearly not the case in ESO.   I wouldn't mind the slow leveling but I'm basically no match for most of the players I'm running into, particularly those that are level 20+.

So is it possible to level in Cyrodiil at a reasonable pace?  I'm only able to play a couple of nights a week which also makes it tough.

If you were absolutely loving Cyrodiil, then you wouldn't be posting about issues.  (No need to kiss up to anyone, say it as it is.)

I think it's OK.  From the the sounds of your post it's OK too, but could be better?

From what I read it was viable a couple days ago, but the kill quests got nerfed into dailies, so you may be better off questing.

It is possible and viable to level in Cyrodill but not by PvP lol. You will have to go off the beaten track and do the repeatable PvE quest that are in Cyrodill. These quests actually grant better XP than questing outside of Cyrodill.

It's not viable to level through PvP the way it is in GW2, at least in the current state of Cyrodiil.  This could change however, and I do wish they would change it.  But it depends on their vision I suppose.   If they want to follow DAOC's model, they'd want people to level through PvE first then PvP later.  If they follow GW2's model, they'd make it fairly easy to level through PvP and start granting good exp for all the caps, and more exp from killing players & npc's.  I do wish they'd take a page from GW2 and make leveling in PvP more viable.

I'm a PvP guy and leveled all of my GW2 characters through WvW.  I loved it.  Now what's saving me about this game is that I actually do enjoy the PvE in this game, so I don't mind questing to level.  If PvE wasn't as good as it is, I would not be playing this game as I wouldn't be able to level through PvP.  Normally I can't stomach PvE much but I have fun in ESO's PvE so everything' s alright for me.

The quests they have in Cyrodiil do give pretty good exp, so make sure you do them.  Still, if you want your skill points and level at a decent pace, you best do it through PvE questing.

No it is not. U need to quest//group content in order to lvl. 1-50 U can mob grind. However, vr1-10 is quest/group content specific. U really get crap for XP off killing stuff.

There was that one beta weekend where just sticking with the pvp zerg netted you much more exp. than you could get via questing. Think they saw all the folks that reached 40+ by Sunday and went a bit heavy-handed on the nerf bat.
